Larry Hogan Transition Team Chair James Brady Says State Budget Is An '800-pound Gorilla'

James Brady is leaving no doubt about the biggest issue Gov.-elect Larry Hogan's transition team has to tackle.

It's the state budget.

"That has been the 800-pound gorilla in the room," said Brady, who is co-chairing the transition team along with Lt. Gov.-elect Boyd Rutherford.

"As the governor elect has said, it's worse than we thought," Brady said. "And quite frankly, until we get that squared away, a lot of policy decisions are very difficult to make."

Brady commented on the budget, which has a $900 million gap, the day after the Hogan camp announced 31 new members rounding out its transition team. The teamhas been adding members since Hoganwon in November.

  1. Why did Larry Hogan put Doug Duncan on his transition team. If everyone remembers when he was running for Governor in 2006 he dropped out because he complained of a mental illness.

  2. Please leave no stone unturned. If I want to send Mr. Hogan and his team some information what is the contact information?

  3. The democrats, their philosophy and leadership have turned Maryland into a large Detroit. The good news is, people are beginning to wake up!
