You heard from the President this morning. He put it his way. I'll put it mine: Election Day is behind us -
- let's get back to work.
The fight for change can't start or stop with one election, because the fights we care about are in front of us. That's why we started OFA in the first place.
So you have a choice to make: Pack it in and wait out the next two years on the sidelines -- or decide that this fight needs you more than ever.
We have a budget deadline this Friday night, so it's time to decide:
Will you chip in $5 or more today?
I know a lot has been asked of you recently. I get a lot of the same emails you do.
We're asking for money today because the work ahead of us is tough. And I wouldn't be asking if I didn't think your donation would make a real impact, and actually help real people.
Here's why: On Saturday, the Obamacare marketplace opens again. For the millions of Americans who still need to get health insurance, this is their chance.
OFA is planning to go all in to help -- that's what it's going to take.
We're up against the same nasty, cynical crap that's always been thrown at us around health care. This time -- now that Obamacare repealers are leading the Senate -- they think they can beat us.
If we do our jobs, they won't just be wrong about that. This will be the time we look back on as a defining moment in the fight over this law. The more people who sign up for coverage, the harder it is for the other side to justify trying to take it all away.
This will be decided at the grassroots level. That's the way it's been from the beginning -- whether it was August 2009, when pundits were saying we didn't have a chance to pass reform, or October 2013, when the other side was declaring the entire law dead because a website didn't work right for a few weeks.
You proved the cynics wrong. And today, there are 10.3 million fewer people uninsured than there were in 2013.
So now it's up to you -- are you going to help finish what we started together?
We have two years left with President Obama in the White House, and I'm not done fighting. Not even close.
If you give a damn, join me and give a dollar, too:
Thanks,

OK Obama, KISS MY ASS. If your people can curse, so can I. What I can offer you is tissues. Welcome Back America! Joe Albero
Joe I like your response and agree 100%.
ReplyDeleteCYNICS must mean people who did not believe the LIE!
ReplyDeleteObamacare is a failure, and a huge slap in the face to all Americans. The coverage is horrible, and the rates even worse. And, they went ahead and messed up our current coverages to meet their shoddy standards. If it's so good, then why hasn't Congress and the President switched? Is Babs, O'Malley and Brown going through the $200+ million dollar screw up for their coverage? No, because they know what horrors lie in that mess.
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine just today got a notice from her insurance company.
ReplyDeleteJan. 15 her premiums go up $527.00 dollars a quarter.
AND, her deductible goes up to $5,000.
(while many undeserving freeloaders get their healthcare for free)
