DEBORAH JOHNSON CONVICTED OF THEFT OVER $ 500 BY WICOMICO COUNTY JURY





On July 30, 2014, Deborah Johnson, age 48, of Lusby, Maryland was convicted of Theft over $500 by a Wicomico County jury. The charges against Deborah Johnson arose out of her involvement as Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation for Healthy Homes and Economic Development, located at 1501 Edgemore Avenue, in Salisbury, Wicomico County, Maryland, during the period of June 2007 – September 2007. Deborah Johnson, as CEO, misappropriated $75,000 from the organization, with over $10,000 of that $75,000 paid to the Defendant in bonuses.
On August 21, 2014, Deborah Johnson was sentenced in the Wicomico County Circuit Court to 15 years with all but 5 years suspended. The Defendant was placed on 5 years of supervised probation and was ordered to pay $75,000 in restitution.

Wicomico County State’s Attorney Matthew A. Maciarello commended D/Cpl. Horace Chester of the Wicomico Bureau of Investigation for his work in the investigation and prosecution of this case. Mr. Maciarello also thanked the citizens of Wicomico County who sat on the jury and Assistant State’s Attorney, Shauna E. Lee who prosecuted this case.

  2. Waste of a conviction...so she steals 75k, gets probation and a judgement against her. Who thinks they'll ever see the money? Can't get blood from a turnip...but I guess we will never know if she actually pays it back.

  6. Sentenced to 15 years, with all but 5 years suspended, and those 5 years, are probation. What a joke!! why even bother having tried her at all ?
