Busy day in Berlin

Berlin fire EMS units on scene with an elderly male with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. He was transported to PRMC with life threatening injuries.

Soon after, Berlin units were dispatched to Assateague State Park for a drowning. Male patient, unconscious, unresponsive. Units are working the patient.

    I beg to ask. What type of life threatening injury could possibly occur as a result of a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head?
