Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 6-9-14

On 06/06/2014 at 10:40 pm Worcester County Sheriff’ s Office Deputies located two people in the area of 205 Atlantic Ave, who were smoking suspected marijuana. The Deputies identified the two people as John Korri Brasher 22 of Waldorf Maryland, the other as a Juvenile from Maryland. Mr. Brasher was released on a Criminal Citation.  The Juvenile was transported to 65th Street for processing.  The juvenile was later released pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.

On 06/06/2014 at 9:05 pm Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting a business check at 301 Baltimore Ave, when they observed a male yelling at a group of people inside the hotel. The Deputies identified the male as a Juvenile from Delaware.  The Juvenile was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Ocean City Police Dept 65th Street for processing.  The juvenile was released pending action from the Department of Juvenile Services.
On 06/07/2014 at 1:05 am Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies witnessed a fight in the area of 5th street near Philadelphia Ave. The Deputies were able to identify the main aggressor as 19 year old Michael Anthony Soper Jr of Perry Hall Maryland.  Deputies along with allied agencies were able to break up the fight without any further incident.  Mr. Soper was arrested and charged with Disorderly Conduct and Affray.  Mr. Soper was seen by a District Court Commissioner and released. 
On Saturday June 7th at about 2100 Hrs. in the 800 block of Baltimore ave. in Ocean City Md.  Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were conducting a welfare check on a public transit bus when they observed Mr. Olajuwon Hakeem Brown, 19 of Aberdeen Md. expose his buttocks to the passengers on the bus. After a short foot chase Mr. Brown was arrested and charged with indecent exposure and disorderly conduct. Mr. Brown was taken before the Ocean City Commissioner and is awaiting trial.

On Saturday June 7th at about 1900 hrs. Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of the Oceanic Motel detected the odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle parked and occupied by Mr. Christian A. Harris 19 of Bear De. in the parking lot. A search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing suspected marijuana in the floor where Mr. Harris was seated. Mr. Harris was issued a criminal citation for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana and released.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 2350 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of Philadelphia Ave and Somerset St. While on patrol the Deputy located a vehicle emitting a strong odor of marijuana.  A search was conducted and The Deputy located suspected marijuana and numerous pieces of drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Justin Michael Smeltzer, 18, of York, PA and Brandon Michael Romero, 19, of York, PA, the occupants of the vehicle were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released pending trial.
On June 7, 2014 at approximately 2350 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol in the area of Baltimore Ave and Somerset St.
While on patrol The Deputies made contact with an individual, Nicholas Nashon Stubbs, 21, of Hagerstown, MD, Mr. Stubbs had a strong odor of marijuana coming from his person. Mr. Stubbs later admitted to having marijuana in his pocket. The suspected marijuana was seized and Mr. Stubbs was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. He was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 0333 hours Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to Robin Dr in Ocean City for a suspicious vehicle.
Upon arrival Deputies detected an odor of marijuana coming from a vehicle located in the parking lot.  Deputies made contact with the driver, Loketo Sylvester Wilson, 19, of Washington, D.C., and the rear passenger, Randolph Williams III, 25, of Washington, D.C.  A search was conducted of the vehicle and The Deputies located suspected marijuana.  Mr. Wilson and Mr. Williams were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. They were released pending trial.


On June 07, 2014 at approximately 6:32 pm, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on bike patrol on 15th St. in the area of Philadelphia Ave., Ocean City, Md. when he observed a driver operating a vehicle not wearing a seatbelt.
The Deputy stopped the vehicle. While speaking with the operator, the Deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.  A search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located. Mr. Shyheim Lamar White, 20, Cambridge, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 8:00 pm, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was on bike patrol on 15th St. in the area of Philadelphia Ave., Ocean City, Md. when he observed a vehicle with the front seat passenger not wearing seatbelt.  The Deputy stopped the vehicle and while speaking with the operator, detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A search was conducted and suspected Marijuana was located Ms. Alexis Marie Nolan, 18, Beltsville, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less the 10 grams. She was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014  at approximately 9:05 pm, A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed a suspicious circumstance involving a motor vehicle in front of a residence on 15th St. Ocean City, Md.  The Deputy conducted a field interview and observed a clear plastic container, containing suspected marijuana in the vehicle.  Mr. Christopher Kiel Braman, 24, Catonsville, Md. was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana less than 10 grams. He was released pending trial.

On June 7, 2014 at approximately 12:07 am, A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy spoke with a female sitting in a vehicle in front of a motel on Atlantic Ave., Ocean City, Md. While the Deputy was talking with the female, he detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. During the investigation, four additional subjects exited the motel and stated they were with the female subject riding in the vehicle. All individuals were detained and a search was conducted. Suspected marijuana was located. 
 Ms. Mary Althea Ortiz, 22, Washington, DC. Was arrested and charged with
possession of marijuana , possession of paraphernalia
Mr. Matthew Eduardo Thomas, 18, Washington, DC. Was also arrested and charged with
possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia. They were released pending trial.

On 06/07/2014 the Worcester County Sheriff's Office was called to the Berlin area Wal-Mart reference an attempted Theft and Assault. The suspect, pictured was stopped by Wal Mart loss prevention and later became combative and fled the store. 
The Worcester County Sheriff's Office is attempting to identify the above individual. He is a white male, with gray to blonde hair and stands approximately 5'11. Anyone with information regarding his Identity is asked to call the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office  410-632-1111 and ask for Cpl Dale Trotter.

On June 08, 2014 at approximately 11:45 pm, Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on foot patrol on S. Baltimore Ave. in the area of Somerset St. in Ocean City.  The Deputies approached two male subjects that smelled of marijuana.  The Deputies detained the individuals and a probable cause search was conducted and suspected marijuana was located on Mr. Jarrod O. McFadden JR, 21, Hagerstown, Md.
Mr. McFadden was charged with possession of marijuana and released pending trial.

On June 08, 2014 at approximately 1:16 am Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were on patrol in a marked patrol vehicle when they observed two males crossing S. Baltimore Avenue, south of S. Division St. In Ocean City, without using a crosswalk.
The Deputies attempted to stop the subjects.  One of the males failed to obey orders to stop and fled on foot.  The Deputies pursed the subject for about 100 yards.  During the foot pursuit, the Deputies observed the suspect make a throwing motion with his hands. The Deputies deployed Taser on the subject and after a brief struggle were able to take the suspect into custody.
A search of the area was conducted and a loaded .44 cal. magnum revolver was recovered and seized.  During further investigation, the suspect stated he had run because he did not want to be caught with the firearm.
The suspect was identified as Weldon Lamont Turner, 19, of Salisbury, Md. Mr. Turner was charged with the following charges: wear and carry a dangerous weapon concealed on his person, carry and transport a handgun upon and about their person, intentionally resist a lawful arrest, willfully fail to obey a reasonable and lawful order of a law enforcement officer. Mr. Turner is awaiting trial.

On June 8, 2014 at approximately 0121 hours Deputies from the Worcester County Sheriff's Office were conducting a foot patrol at the Bed Time Inn in West Ocean City. Maryland.  While conducting a patrol of the premise, Deputies smelled the odor of burnt marijuana in the parking lot.  An individual identified as Thomas James Logan Jr., 22 years old from Capitol Heights, Maryland. Exited a vehicle where the odor of marijuana was coming from. Mr. Logan stated he was smoking marijuana and there was marijuana in the vehicle. The Deputies recovered the suspected marijuana and Mr. Logan was placed under arrest. Mr. Logan gave Deputies a false name initially and when his true identity was discovered, Mr. Logan was found to have a warrant out of Prince George's County, Maryland. Mr. Logan was transported to the District Court Commissioner and released on $3,500 unsecured bond pending trial.

    1. Right. Like just because I farted doesn't mean I crapped myself. Lol. They sell fragrances and cologne that smell like pot. justJust because you smell it doesn't mean it is it nowadays

  2. At least it wasn't just me that noticed there is a LOT of police time and money being spent on sniffing out marijuana.
    They probably like the arrests so they can get to do the full body search, becuase if there's one thing a cop loves, it's feeling up a man's "package" and getting a close up view of the "t'aint".

  4. Gee! All these 'innocent' little dopers are driving around 'under the influence' of their favorite substance.

    Aren't we fortunate that OweMalley & OweBrown think that's just fine, based on their recently signed legislation.

    How nice to be able to share the road, and sidewalk with the stoners.

    And ya gotta love turning loose some character who is already wanted on another warrant!
