BREAKING NEWS: Ron Pagano Drops Out Of 5th District Wicomico County Council Race

After careful consideration, including discussion with my physician and family members, I have decided to suspend my campaign and withdraw from the 5th District County Council race. I shared my physical concerns with supporters before agreeing to run, however, the physical demands have been greater than initially expected and I am unable to keep up with the pace. The Severe Degenerative Arthritis that I suffer from has flared up and increased in intensity, as a result of the schedule I have been trying to keep. I have never been one to quit, however, I am also realistic and understand that, in order to win, it will take a great deal of additional physical effort between now and November 4th for me to win.

My hope is that County leaders and elected officials will take to heart my recommendations. Foremost, I urge them to establish a county-level Office of Technology & Economic Development. No county in the state is growing or attracting real jobs without one. As the “Hub of Delmarva”, we need more than a one-person office if we hope to perform the work that’s needed to attract the jobs and partnerships that are available in the state. We cannot afford to sit idly by while the counties around us pursue the resources and opportunities that persons with vision can see. Wicomico County has a lot to offer and we need to get that message out, loud and clear.

We also need to support our schools and teachers. Without a great school system, there are few employers who will look to expand or relocate here. Without good training in high-tech skills, and without good job opportunities, our children will continue to leave the Shore and head over the Bridge, for a more secure future.

Our Deputies, Firefighters and EMS personnel also deserve to receive the best training and equipment available in order to continue to save lives and property. They are our First Responders and without their dedication and commitment, we are looking at an increased risk for loss of life and destruction of property. They put their lives on the line everyday, and when I see budget cuts affecting them, I wonder what some Council members are thinking.

We all want to keep taxes low, but there comes a point when excessive cuts will result in a failure, on the County’s part, to provide basic services to our citizens. Without these basic services, employers and businesses will continue to move elsewhere. Every business owner understands that it takes investment in order to achieve a return; without investment, there can be no revenue and no future. There are some on the County Council who have failed to grasp that concept. They are shortsighted and have little, if any, vision for the future. They are selfish and refuse to realize that there will come a time when ongoing budget cuts will erode the County’s ability to grow and prosper. Their wallets might grow a little fatter, but the County, its businesses and residents, will suffer in the end.

I sincerely want to thank every person who has worked hard, encouraged me and supported my campaign. Contributions will be returned over the next few weeks. I appreciate you all very much and hope we can continue to work together in the future, to make Wicomico County a better place for our families. I have learned a lot from talking to folks in the 5thdistrict, from Delmar to Willards, and every place in between. Thank you for listening and offering your ideas!

I plan on continuing to focus my efforts with the IPPS Mentoring Program, along with the other volunteer commitments I currently have.

I urge everyone to get out and vote in the Primary on June 24th and the General Election, on November 4th. If you don’t vote, you can’t make a difference. Be part of the solution and future you want to see!

Thank you,

Ron

  2. Mr. Pagano was well aware of ALL of the information we had been holding back on with his past criminal activity and history. We planned on publishing all of it two weeks before the election.

My guess is that the Daily Times, (so desperate for liberal leadership) was not going to publish the very same information vital to the voters.

Pagano has come to realize not only the power of Salisbury News but the true following as he continued through this process. It came as no surprise to me whatsoever that he dropped out of the race.

Personally, I think the guy is a piece of crap and doesn't even belong on the streets of society. I firmly believe he has used his disabilities to further his criminal agenda and was more than willing to keep his past history from the voters. This is exactly why it is so important for Blogs to be out there because we would have shown you everything the Daily Times, WBOC and WMDT would not have.

Remember Ladies & Gentlemen, Salisbury News has the "smoking gun" on Laura Mitchell and we will publish that information two weeks before the election.

Let me also say this. I want you to know that I personally sent the Daily Times a portion of Pagano's criminal history, DOCUMENTED. They did NOTHING with it.

  4. I will also add, we do not even believe the man actually lived in Delmar, MD. From everything we have gathered he is a Delaware resident.

  5. This is the candidate of choice of Pretl, Pollitt and the Democrats. That should say something to the people of Wicomico County about the leadership we have in the executive office at this time. The district has elected twice a man who works hard to keep the county responsible to the taxpayers with full time criticism from the left. They want to complain that he is obstinate and a naysayer. So instead they put forward a "lawyer" with a reputation of a thief. He was suspended from the bar when it was discovered he stole from clients. The Democrat machine supported him knowing he is a tax evader with a lien of in excess of a million dollars. His supporters should be embarrassed but without a conscience I doubt they will be. It's a sad time in Wicomico County.

  6. He lives in Woodcreek. He does actually stay there, I see him very often and at all times during the day.
One question, Why hold back the criminal information? Is it available to the public? If so where?
2 weeks before the election doesn't give much time for debate. I would rather know well ahead to hear the explanations and rebuttals.

  7. 12:54, Our investigations on this guy have delivered different results than an anonymous person saying they have seen him somewhere.

His history as a LIAR and a CHEAT convince me personally that the guy isn't worthy of trust by anyone.

As for the criminal history, we'll get to it. In fact, we have already delivered quite a bit on this guy. Use the search bar on the top left hand corner of this Blog and type in his name and the articles will pop up for you.

The man is SCUM. He has a major chip on his shoulder and people feel sorry for him. He should make great friends with the likes of JT.

  8. Pagano's Delaware address is:
    18766 John J. William Hwy.
    Rehoboth Beach, Delaware 19971

Ask Pagano why he spent 6 months in the Chillicothe Ohio Correctional Institute. Or why did the Ohio State Supreme Court suspend his law license indefinitely in Feb 1985, yes he did resign from the bar in July 1985...a little late.

  9. Kinda like you living Salisbury when you ran for mayor

    ReplyDelete
  10. 1:07, OK JT or Ireton, I was NEVER challenged by ANYONE when I ran for Mayor. Unlike Pagano, I invited the Press to come visit me at 11:00 PM ANY night of the week.

I owned 300 W. Main Street, Pagano owns NOTHING. There was so many people who witnessed my living Downtown Sunday through Friday afternoon.

So you can try to claim I lied but yet YOU nor anyone else ever challenged my residence because YOU would have lost. I lied to no one and quite frankly there are a LOT of people that would have challenged Pagano on his claim of residency.

My Wife and Grandson sacrificed a LOT to allow me to move to Salisbury and shame on YOU for ever trying to claim I lied to the public. I did not.

If this was a true statement then Worcester County, which has one of the highest rated school systems, with some of the highest paid teachers in the state would have plenty of high paying job opportunities instead of the low paying service jobs in OC.
Very few of the smart people in Worcester County stay there because of the lack of good jobs.
This is what liberals always say about supporting our schools but it's just not true.

  12. Joe:

Now let's turn the spotlight on the other losers that the Dem's are running this year, like Mitchell and Hastings. But first we need to know why Pollitt and Pretl would embrace someone like Pagano.

    ReplyDelete
  13. This guy shows how far the local Democrat party has fallen -- he fit right in with the rest: Pollitt, Mitchell, etc., and their main mouthpiece, Michael Pretl (who was Pagano's campaign manager).

    ReplyDelete
  14. To 1:57, don't forget about Kirby Travers. He's got a big problem, too, from what I hear.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Basically liked what he had to say BUT when he called fiscally on the ball council members "selfish," he can stuff it!

Yes, we do need to invest. But when we see dollar after dollar squandered on stupid things and then they come back for more saying we need to invest in "basic" services, I want to tell them to stuff it!

So, Mr. Pagano, these people looking out for me when one more tax increase means I can't pay my rent (yup yup landlord passes it on), they are selfish? While your buddies chow down at every restaurant in town and I can't afford to even go to McDonald's?

    STUFF IT!

  16. Joe, This anonymous person has nothing in this fight was just making a statement that he does in fact stay in Woodcreek. Enter from Foskey its about the 2nd , 3rd or 4th house on the right. Solar paneled roof and a Jimmy Sarbanes sign in the yard. He may have other places he stays also but he is there a lot.
The comment about the information 2 weeks prior was said in regards for the information your sitting on for Laura Mitchell, Ron's out who cares about that information anymore.
I have read all the information you have put out there, I come to your site many times a day to get what no one else prints or blogs.

  17. 2:16 to follow up on your comment. I thought it was very disrespectful that Tony Sarbanes did not introduce the elected officials today but instead had them raise their hand. The Greek would have exhibited anger if that had happened to him while he was an elected official. But now thinking of the real reason it was because the Democrats have so few elected officials in Wicomico County and the ones that are holding office are an embarrassment.

Obviously this clown has no clue about how the firefighters and EMS personnel are funded. If their were any cuts to them they wouldn't notice it. Most are volunteer stations with paid hand outs worth millions. They hire part time paramedics to run the ambulance calls for them while paying them pennies on the dollar compared to what the county is paying them. They get money for both fire and EMS all along billing the ambulance companies so they can collect insurance in order to buy their new toys like brand new parade quality fire engines with high quality chrome wheels. That is a waste of money. You don't need chrome to put out fires or chase ambulances.

  22. Now it's time to put the heat on Josh Hastings and Laura Mitchell. They are the Chuck Cook hand picked liberal Democrats that were picked to run alongside Ron Pagano. Those losers are going to bring this county down if they are elected. They will keep pecking away until they get the majority in office just like they did with Ireton and the Salisbury City Council.

  24. It's scary to think that one would even consider to run for public office given the 'luggage' that Pagano was carrying. All of the indictments were public record - but it just goes to illustrate the differences in the 'Liberal' aspects verses the 'Conservative' approach.

Once Again, SBYnews deserves a standing ovation for ferreting out this individual.

JT...thanks for posting my withdrawal statement. As you know and have had experience with, pain & exhaustion go hand-in-hand and my arthritis has been really flaring up lately.

Regarding the irrelevant guy from Delaware; nothing he has said, done, threatened or alleged was influential on my decision. His alleged "findings" are nothing I haven't divulged to people over the years. Did I put it on my campaign material? Of course not...just like 'he' never put out that he was the low-life, stinking animal that he has been up to this day!

The difference between him & I is that my bad judgments (as a result of prescription Xanax, btw) happened 30 years ago, and I recovered and became a great Dad and passionate community advocate of those who are voiceless in our society...HE will never change! He will always remain a scumbag and offer nothing to the community! (except, perhaps, his properties that are being foreclosed on to recover real estate taxes he owes! lol)

Thanks for continuing to do what you do, Jon! We may not always agree, however, we can at least talk without ad hominems being tossed around!

  53. 12:27, Hey Pagano, the REAL difference between YOU and ME is, I AM NOT A THIEF. I AM NOT A CONVICTED CRIMINAL. More importantly I do NOT use or make up EXCUSES from drugs or alcohol for my actions.

I too ran for Office and put everything out there. There was NEVER a hidden agenda, even though my opponent fabricated lies about me, it's all, (unfortunately) a part of the political game.

Ron, you are a criminal and we are awaiting even MORE information about you from Ohio.

  76. Ron Pagano fits right in with the Loser Sarbanes. Gambling, doesn't pay their bills, run ins with the law.

  77. Ron Pagano sells his "legal services" on Elance.com under the banner "Legal Wellness" (http://ronpagano.elance.com) Interestingly, on that page he claims to be based in the Bahamas! Maybe it's time for a geography lesson? And strangely, one of the "references" on the page, Karen Keller is a former wife according the the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

Would you get your "Legal Wellness" checkup from a disbarred convicted felon who even lies about where he's located???

He needs to move back to Columbia, MD and run for office, he'd be shoe-in candidate there! :-)
