That's TWO Franchise Sub Shops Gone From Salisbury

50 comments:

  1. Subway is still around, that is the only one I get stuff from. Hoping they put one in at the new Goose Creek going up by La Tolteca. Subside has been skimping on my last few orders.

  2. Quiznos had nasty subs anyway

  3. Pre measuring sub contents and putting it in a paper container isn't fooling anyone. It's just being measured before the shop opens and during the periods when no customers are in line.Locals know when a restaurant or sub shop is afraid of giving anyone their money's worth. You'd think they would learn.

  4. Who was the first one?

  5. We should LOCK UP every Democratic VoterMarch 26, 2014 at 1:24 PM

Because of Obama and his failed Obama-Care Policies....

  6. Quizno's sucked. Might mention that two have opened that are better. Jersey Mike's and Primo's.

  7. So sad. It's a cool building. I got my first checking account there when it was Union Trust Bank.

  8. Jersey Mike's is the first place that has done it correctly in a long time... but there is more to it than the sandwich.

Some places think that since they have been in business the longest..that the customer accepts mediocrity.

The next store up the Highway from Quiznos should take notice that the customer comes before a smoke break. WaWa is a lot easier to get a decent sandwich than sitting around in your lobby

  9. 1:33-I liked the tunnel between the main building and the drive in section.Salisbury used to have tunnels everywhere. Not many left.

  10. The Boulevard Deli in Delmar has a good of a sub that you will get anyplace.

    ReplyDelete
  11. The other one was also the Quiznos on the north side near best buy. The corporation has filed bankruptcy and I'm sure the franchise is just reacting to that. Quiznos has certainly fallen in the wow factor as well as customer service. It was just a matter of time.

  12. what is the other franchise sub shop that is gone??

  13. Quiznos prime rib and swiss was really good.

  14. 1:51 i agree with you, Red Door used to be my go to place for good quality subs, but their service is always slow. I think wawa has great subs and when i want to treat myself Primos have the best i've ever had.

  15. Everyone has an opinion when in comes down to it .
If you are hungry enough , you will like most anything .
Who really cares what store you like , the business is gone , it was healthy for the economy in this area as were the other 60 businesses that are gone.
You guys don't have a clue!!

  16. The best subs and bergers are at The Silver Saddle.

    1. What's a berger? I thought it was spelled burger, short for hamburger.

  17. Zeppole Cafe on Mt Herman Rd has also closed.

  18. Heroes was another one in the Twilley enter.

  19. yes, boulevard deli is very good!! i am always looking for the best italian coldcut... there are several good providers in this area....

  20. Drive by Quiznos every day, and it rarely has any cars parked in front. It's all about serving a product at a good price that brings customers back. For me, it's Red Door and Jersey Mike's.

    ReplyDelete
  21. For my money Red Door is still the sub shop! I feel I get my money's worth, make another sandwich out of the extra meat.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Subside Deli has good subs, but the best ever were from the Old Cals Sub Shop on Snow Hill Rd, which is now long gone, but that is showing my age

    ReplyDelete
  23. I walked in Quiznos 1 time ,2 workers looked at me like i was interrupting their conversation time. They only had 1 customer in front of me and neither of them made a attempt to help me ,so i left. Customer service or lack of is what gets them every time.

  24. Well.. the regular Grill cook sucks. He burns the fried onions and the meat 90% of the time.

Does he care... hell NO. Its not his business... why should he. Jack Stanley needs to go in there fire his General Manager, get rid of the rest of the staff and then train new people himself (Even though he's probably in his 80's or 90's). Red Door use to be the BEST place for subs but not anymore!!!

  25. Red Door Sub Shop was my FIRST job as a teenager in high school and it was the best learning experience I ever had. Red Door runs a tight ship around there and does things right. They are locally owned and have been for many years. Their subs are also great. I would endorse Red Door as the best sub shop any day!

  26. ANDYS PLACE. Has hired a Sex Offender that's word on the street?

    ReplyDelete
  27. Anyone remember The Hut? Great subs & crinkle cut fries!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Joe, can you put together a list of Local businesses that have gone under since Obama took office? I'll bet it is in the hundreds!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Again, the entire corporation filed bankruptcy. Why is this surpising. Sounds like issues from the top, leadership 101.

    ReplyDelete
  30. for 2:21 They are talking about two Quizno sub shops. One shut down a while back. The south end store did not want to be disturbed by customers.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Primos has the best italian subs hands down. Red Door has the best cheeseburger sub in Salisbury, but Pizza King in Seaford is a tie.

    ReplyDelete
  32. i agree about subside, they have sold me a lettuce and mayo stuffed so called cold cut for the last time. the old l+f sub shop was the best in there time around here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. 3:42 well according to joe and others the problem most likely was your attitude. at least that was what I was told when I made mention of the poor customer service and attitudes that plague this community.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It seems Annie is out of rehab or off the night shift. Was a nice break while it lasted.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Primo's is absolutely the best around. The cold cuts and cheeses are top quality. The sub rolls are to die for, the store is very clean and the staff is great.

The subs are not skimpy, they are full of meat and cheese. Again; they are the best ever...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree Primos has great subs but they are a bit pricey. $20+ for lunch for two could/should be a sit down meal. Wawa hoagiefest is the bomb in the summer.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 5:40 I have been here all along.. you were just too stupid to pick me out of the anonymous crowd.

Just goes to show ya what an idiot you are.

    ReplyDelete
  38. The all you can eat Chinese Buffet on S. Salisbury blvd. has closed up shop too. It was across the street from Walgreens near Giant foods.

    ReplyDelete
  39. It's survival of the fittest.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Primo is far and away the best sub/hoagie shop in the area.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Red Door is awesome. Anytime I go in there and anything is wrong with my order or it is taking slower than usual they give me free drinks and sometimes free food. They really do care about customers and that's saying a lot. I went to Chilis with my husband recently and found a chunk of chicken in his blue cheese dressing. They didn't offer a free meal or discount, just swapped it out. Lame.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I have eaten at Jersey Mikes in other areas, the one here pales in comparison. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the prices are fair, but there is not much between the bread. Primos is.............. well,,,,,,,,,,primo,

    ReplyDelete
  43. You realize this isn't about Salisbury, right? Quiznos went bankrupt. Shows one more reason to focus on local businesses, local food.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Red door is a has been. Sorry they used to have great food. Not sure what happeded. I like WAWA crazy as it sounds clean, fresh, and fast. Good prices.

    No great subs anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I love Red Door but....they say call ahesd. Well I did and was on hold 25minutes. Was driving ther so got out of my car, went in (still on hold). There was alot of people in there so I left and went somewhere else. They need someone JUST answering phone orders and maybe Jack needs to assess their manager and system.

  46. WaWa's food is good depending on who makes it! The other day I got a cheese steak there and had to drain the water off of it before I could eat it it was marginal at best. Red Door is the same story the last time we got subs there the tomatoes were rotten! Devages on Main street (The Old Polar Bar)Has great subs and locally owned just a little pricey. SubSide Deli SUCKS! The subs there are all lettuce and heavy mayo and little meat. Quiznos sucked from day one and the service was the worst in the area no wonder they are gone.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 10:26 were you driving while on your cell phone?

    ReplyDelete
  48. 1:02
Yes, hands feee. Newer vehicles have this thing called bluetooth that connects your phone through the vehicle's audio system. On that subject, I'm surprised that no one has filed a lawsuit alleging that the cell phone hands free law is discriminatory against people that cannot afford a newer vehicle. The law is just another tax on people driving older vehicles and a reason to stop drivers to search their vehicle.
