Harry Reid Gives Some Staffers A Pass On Obamacare

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is breaking with fellow congressional leaders on Capitol Hill by giving some members of his staff an exemption from having to purchase health coverage through Obamacare’s new insurance exchanges.

CNN reported that Mr. Reid and his personal staff will purchase insurance through the exchanges, but that the Nevada Democrat is using a loophole in the law that allows lawmakers to let their committee and leadership staffers keep their federal employee insurance plan.

“We are just following the law,” Adam Jentleson, a Reid spokesman, told CNN.

The move will provide some additional political fodder for Republicans, who have trained heavy fire at Obamacare — most recently pointing to the rocky rollout of the federal HealthCare.gov website as additional proof that the law is doomed to fail.

  3. Harry is as crooked and slimy as they come. He and His are above the law. It's alright for the rest of citizens to lose their doctors and health insurance, but it's not alright for Harry and company!
