Mardela High School Wins State Semi Finals

Joe...is a shame that no local media were in Cambridge tonight to cover the MD 1A boys regional final featuring Mardela HS and Cambridge South Dorchester HS. Mardela boys won 2-1 to advance to the 1A state semifinals on Saturday against North Carroll HS. Guess you have to be a big city school to get some media coverage.

This is the first time they have gone this far since 1973.

  3. Soccer is not a sport. It's for boys, who's mommy's won't let them play football.

  4. For the ignorant among us,what sport are we talking about?

  5. Hmmm….soccer is played and watched by more fans world wide than football. Football players don't have the stamina to handle all the running in soccer and their mommy's make them wear pads and helmets.. LOL.

"Stamina"... Yeah...That's why people go to sports events - to watch "stamina". Ridiculous.
I'm going to tell you why, as you say, "...soccer is played and watched by more fans world wide than football...".
The vast majority of the world cannot afford to outfit a team(s) in the gear it takes to play football - or baseball and lacrosse, for that matter.
For a soccer game, you need a place to stand, something round, and two tin cans to mark a goal, and you got yourself a soccer game. You don't even need a uniform. Hell, you don't even need clothes.
Do you know why there's so many 'soccer fights' during the games? It's because the game is so freakin' BORING that it gives them SOMETHING to do in the stands.
You know why they sign drinkin' songs in the stands during the entire game? Because they're BORED to freakin' death.
When's the last time the fans started fires in the stands (as what happened this week in some 3rd world country soccer match) at a football game? Baseball game?
I tried to like that stupid game... I even went to see the greatest of all time, Pele, play. The entire game all I thought about was setting the stands on fire - just for a little excitement.
    I'd rather watch paint dry.

  8. Please don't take this well earned win and accomplishment from these boys. They worked very hard and are a great TEAM of excellent soccer players. Unfortunately, Mardela never gets all the coverage the city schools get...just like they are the last high school to see any money or upgrades. Congratulations boys!

  9. Great Job Mardela. If you were from Delaware we would know all about it; that's all local news covers.

  11. Joe, just to correct the headline. They won the east region and now play in the state semifinals on Saturday. Still proud!

  12. For all you ignorant people out there talking about my school you don't have to be so jeoulous that your team lost to ours. If you want to keep saying bad things about my school PLEASE go make yourself fat and die on your couch. OH AND STOP BRINGING MY THE WARRIORS DOWN TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF THANK YOU!

  13. For all of you people who are hating on MMHS PLEASE STOP because that is my school and it is very rude that we won and are feeling happy but you sit there on your couch saying and listing mean things about my team. And just because our team won doesn't mean you all have to sit there and hate on us to make your self feel better so THANK YOU and if you want to say anything else...please don't!
