  2. The have to eat. They're going to eat. They don't care what you think. Tell your left wing liberals to get a life.

  3. A left wing liberal would have parked the firetruck in the street blocking ongoing traffic. At least they found a spot; where would you put the damn thing?

It should be parked at the fire house!

  6. Jersey Mikes sponsored a breast cancer awareness support day. They donated a portion of each purchase toward this cause. I suspect since the firefighters were wearing pink shirts and are active with this cause that's why they were there.

  7. 5:18 Since Maryland is the number one state in the nation in breast cancer numbers I want to personally tip my hat to the people who showed up at Jersey Mikes to support the cause. REAL MEN WEAR PINK!

  8. The damn thing should be parked at the fire house, until there is a fire. I cringe every day that I see this monster truck out burning fuel so these idiots can joy ride just waiting for a fire to happen. So very wrong.

  9. It will not change. They are going to take the truck to get lunch. From reading about this over and over, apparently it is an operational decision and was decided that it is better to have the crew together with the truck if there is an emergency to respond to rather than drive back to the station to get the truck. Just get over it. You will not change it. It is what it is.

  10. anonymous 7:47, I beg to differ. It seems you target your comment, (anonymously, of course) directly towards me. Here's the difference. There are MILLIONS of people reading Salisbury News, MILLIONS. What KILLS all of you is the fact that Salisbury News has become the BIGGEST and most POWERFUL source of news and information for the entire Eastern Shore. NOT because of me, because of MILLIONS of ME's out there. Try another fundraiser and you'll see the majority of those making donations are within the Fire Department because the citizens are sick and tired of your BS.

  11. I'd like fires with that!October 16, 2013 at 9:34 PM

No wheel chocks, no traffic cones to advise the public of an obvious traffic hazard, blocking a vehicle. I guess the guy sitting on the bumper brought his lunch to work or maybe his EBT card was out of funds. Maybe the crews at SFD can supplement their pay and add to the city coffers by starting to make emergency deliveries for the fast food shops in town.

  12. To those of you trying to get messages through challenging the MILLIONS of hits Salisbury News has received, I'll make you a deal.

I invite ANY one of you to come to me and I will personally show you, no, PROVE to you flat out that we have had MILLIONS of hits in 2013, MANY MILLIONS.

Don't believe me, TRY ME! I'll even make it easier. Find someone who is fair and balanced like Bryan Records and I will meet him and show him.

I spoke with a Salisbury Firefighter today who absolutely agrees, this is abuse and should be stopped. It's unfair to the taxpayers and even your own people won't argue the point.

Next we'll concentrate on take home vehicles, especially the ones that are NOT in the City or even the state.

Now, the ball is in your court. You want to call me a liar, I challenge you to meet with me and let me prove to you I DO NOT LIE.

  14. I have been contributing for quite a few years a substantial amount of money to the local Salisbury FD. I will no longer continue to contribute until some realm of sanity and professionalism is required and restored in the FD. To blatantly park a FD truck like this in such an area, other than for emergencies and definitely not for procuring meals, shows a definite lack of respect for the public, the command and a definite misuse of FD equipment and public funds. This demonstrates the unprofessional actions of a few that will effect the many. If you want to be treated as true professionals then you should start carrying yourselves as professionals by evidence of your deeds and your observed responsibility to not only the public but also to your chosen profession. Salisbury FD, a lot of us out here are very ashamed of your actions while representing your county, your city and most of all the citizens who depend on you. We can do better than this so please do.
