Attorney General Gansler Depicted As Reckless Passenger By Md. Troopers Who Drove Him

Maryland Attorney General Douglas F. Gansler regularly ordered state troopers assigned to drive him to turn on the lights and sirens on the way to routine appointments, directing them to speed, run red lights and bypass traffic jams by using the shoulder, according to written accounts by the Maryland State Police.

When troopers refused to activate the emergency equipment, Gansler, now a Democratic candidate for governor, often flipped the switches himself, according to the police accounts. And on occasion, he became so impatient that he insisted on driving, directing the trooper to the passenger’s seat. Gansler once ran four red lights with sirens blaring, a trooper wrote. Another account said he “brags” about driving the vehicle unaccompanied on weekends with the sirens on.

  5. Now I understand why he refused to return my calls and my Email and professionally drafted correspondence regarding a wanted Felon residing in Maryland and wanted in south Carolina. By the way the Felon is a well known wealthy Democrat that sells fraudulently manufactured antiques, falsifies death certificates and commits bigamy and defrauds the unsuspecting 2nd wife of everything. I guess Gansler was just too busy being an ass to actually do his job. If he runs for Governor I will bring the victims to Maryland

  12. “"This extremely irresponsible behavior is non-stop and occurs on a daily basis,” Lt. Charles Ardolini, commander of the state police executive protection section, wrote in a December 2011 memo that said the problem had existed for five years."

No,what's extremely irresponsible behaviour is that the problem went on for 5 yrs before anyone did anything about it. It only came to light when rumblings began surfacing about a run for governor. Until then the omalley admin kept it hidden. Looks like the MSP needs a housecleaning starting at the top.

    1. It rolls downhill 11:57. When you're already standing at the bottom with a heavy load, why ask for more? Cops are simply, employees. It's those above the everyday cop that makes the decisions, or turns on the green light.

  14. Once again another reason why Sheriffs are and should be the highest enforcement authorities because they are held accountable by elections. High ranking State Police officials are appointed and most will enforce the Governor's agenda. Think 2nd amendment positions in Maryland, the Sheriffs sent a letter to O'Malley against the recently passed law because they swore an oath to the Constitution and they believed the law was in violation of both the US and Maryland Constitution. Gansler will be no better than any other socialist liberal.

I am sure he is not doing any work in the car if he has time to criticize the driving habits of the troopers. And why a luxury SUV? I thought O'Taxxy was a proponent of the environment and fiscal responsibility. Get him a Ford Fiesta or Honda hybrid, or better yet ley him take mass transit!

You missed the part where the SUV belongs to the States Attorney's Office.

On a side not Rick Pollitt's personal car is registered to the Sheriff's Office and has an emergency light on board.
