Lost Dog 9-18-13

Our 11 year old lab/sheppard mix is missing! We came home today and he was gone. He is 110 pounds with no tail and a red shock collar on. Yes, he escaped the yard through the electric fence. That means where ever he is...he is being shocked by his collar right now. My daughters are heart broken so please help! His name is Joey Lawson, also answers to Jojo...or Bubbie. Orange/Brown in color, brown eyes, and again, NO TAIL. He would have been found near Zion Rd/Abbott Dr/ Gordy Rd/ Beaglin Park area. Please call us at 443-614-8075 (Justin) or 410-251-9433

  1. I forgot to mention he takes medication daily for his hip. He missed a dose tonight. Please help get him home.

  2. Misty - Please don't worry about the collar. The shock collars only work when within a few feet of the underground wire. Once he was away from that the collar does not continue to shock them.

  3. @10:27 I was going to say the same thing. We had a underground wire and it stops the shock once they are far enough away. I hope he is found to get his medicine and reunited with his family. I would also contact the local vet offices with pictures to post, hoping to see him home soon.

  5. Glad he was found. Like the above people said it only works when they are so close to it. The only problem is if they bolt and leave the yard and it is fence is left on they can not return back into the yard without being shocked.

  7. the collars only shock for 30 seconds if the line is crossed so if he got shocked it was for 30 seconds while crossed. if he was able to cross. i would check the batteries. glad you found him...

  9. I have a question a little off topic. If you install the system with the shock collar and your dog is in his area and another (bigger) dog comes in the area how can the little dog get away. I have a beagle and I'm worried that this would be a problem b/c several neighbors let their larger dogs run on weekends. Anybody got any thoughts? BTW.. so glad you found your sweetie!
