BREAKING NEWS: Fire Company Funds Restored At Reduced Level
The Berlin Fire Company will receive $200,000 from the town after the Mayor and Council voted tonight to reduce the public funding contribution significantly, according to Staff Writer Travis Brown. The company had been receiving about $537,000 annually. A town examination of the fire company's finances confirmed its solid financial footing and significant reserves, according to the town, and the council feels the fire company can sustain the reduction. Fire company officials say they can't do that and adequately maintain the fleet as they should without dipping into reserves. Full story of the passionate meeting coming tomorrow.

  2. I think the Mayor acted very true to his word, and stood up to a bunch of cry babies. I cant get over Fitzgerald, Brown, and the trustees wife Kim. She formed the wives club in OC and cost her husband what reputation he had left, goes before the Berlin Council months ago, and is still making everyone look like a bunch of self serving fools. Lord, just how stupid some people can be.

  3. They don't deserve on cent! They run a boys club that has broke the law, and trust of the people. Stay strong council!

  4. The Town looked at their books, and found more than enough to conduct business. Why did the company push so hard to have two additional stations they couldn't staff or equip? FOR THE FUND DRIVE! This bunch of hillbillies needs to be disbanded, simple as that. Put a decent Chief and President in there, or close the doors "boys".

  5. You should have seen the pouty lips and make believe tears. What's the problem, one less beer fest and new truck, or big boy tires on the utilities? Trimble, how's it working for you knowing you started this entire ordeal? Hear your having chest pains ...... Karma. I think Gee was gracious, should have stuck to his gums, "until the leaderships changes", nothing, notta, no more!

  8. If they are half as irresponsible with their money, as they are the law and ethics, they don't deserve anything! Great job Bryon, just like your dad, and Brown, Simpson and others, time to stand up, admit the mistakes, and do the right thing. These idiots hired the supervisor back the town fired, that witnessed the disregard for the employees rights. How's that for telling the Mayor "stick it"!
