Do You Feel This Is Too Dangerous?

The Maryland State Police are walking directly onto Rt. 50 to flag down speeders east bound in Berlin.

  1. They need to get something out of the tourists before before they blow it all in OC on parking meters.

  2. yes I have seen it a couple of times this summer and its stupid.
I was in the left lane and they wanted the guy in the right lane so they walked out in front of my 60 mph moving vehicle to wave over the guy in the far lane. not so bright. everyone slammed on their brakes and weaved around each other. all for the money of a ticket- they jeopardize everyone's lives. are they that desperate for money? you would have thought we had evolved further. its apparent we have not.
    money money money.
when someone gets killed they all boo hoo, while we are saying its just a matter of time.

  3. Yes, but what is more dangerous is you taking a picture while you are driving!

  4. Nice try 3:38 but I was not driving my spouse was when I took this picture.

I fear for their safety; allot of folks drive with tunnel vision, and these guys could get badly injured...

  6. It is very dangerous..we live near Forest Grove Road, a frequent hang out for the MSP and see it all the time. We witnessed a car, obviously speeding lock his breaks when the cop walk out onto the road. Scary stuff!

  7. They also do it all the time west bound lane of 50 @ Forest Grove Rd in Parsonsburg. Very dangerous, even to us people who are not speeding. When cars slam on brakes and start swerving, something bad is going to happen. I see a lawsuit in the future.

  8. Thought this was stopped by the state a few years Ago when a trooper was struck and killed in Somerset County. Thought they had a chase car now to catch the speeders going through radar.

  9. Hardest work they do all week I bet!

  10. I have 20/20 vision and coming from OC the other day and the sun in a bad spot made it hard to know if I was approaching a box or person

  11. Calm down folks. It's ok if Troopers want to play in traffic. Someone has to do it. 62 mph (which they generally allow) is fast enough.
I do believe the state has intentionally made it an income producing entity which is morally corrupt.
I would introduce a three strikes rule. Two warnings then a fine
instead of the system in place now that benefits the state and the large insurance corporations on the backs of those that caused no harm in a victimless "crime" of 68 in a 55.

  12. They've done it for years; it's what they're trained to do. Just maybe they saved someone from getting killed by a speeding, drunk driver. We all have jobs and take unique risks (some just sitting all day developing obesity and hypertension).

  15. Nothing more than highway robbery.
They hide behind stupid laws, badges, and guns to shake down motorists for money.
Someday, the people will revolt and Barney Fife will get his.

  16. This is dangerous, and when it happens, the poor driver will be found guilty of ramming a "Fully uniformed State Police Trooper In Proper Safety Vest" or some bullshi* like that. Also dangerous is the troopwe cars on both shoulders running traps. Law sez move over to the other lane with patrol car stopped. This effectively closes both lanes, legally, and driving through that at any speed would be "illegal", so stopping in your tracks would be "legal" and cause a 30car pileup.

Nice. They need to get their shi1 together.

  17. Better be careful or they will be Zaborized!

  18. I dont understand why anyone is silly enough to walk in front of a vehicle traveling at least68 mph. And know exactly how fast it is heading at you. I didnt think there was training for playing dodge car.

Ask Trooper Zabor what happens when you do that.

  20. Oh what will these morons with badges do when Roscoe P Coltrane get waffled by a car going 65mph... frankly if you are stupid enough to stand in front of a car going 65mph you deserve the Darwin award

  22. yaeh they do this almost every day.. i've seen times where people weren't even sure who was being pulled over so you have people jsut slamming on their brakes, which could cause an accident.

  26. lmao don't you all know they are supermen! got a badge and a gun and the laws don't apply to them. even the laws of common sense and physics don't apply to them. It's all about getting the most cash for the least amount of effort! Next weekend they'll be using the cherry picker again! scumbag cops is what they are. now all you cops let me hear how much public service work you do! freaking joke!

  27. to all the MSP/LEO bashers - you'd be the first to want their help if you needed them and then complain they didn't get there fast enough.

So sick of all the whiners about law enforcement - if you are not breaking the law - you don't have anything to worry about. You whiners don't have the stones to be a LEO...and no I am not in law enforcement. Just sick of the chronic complaining by people who apparently don't respect anyone or anything for the job they do or freedoms/services they provide.

Most of you complainers probably have multiple tickets and are the reason they have to run radar to protect the rest of us from YOU!

Or you don't have gainful employment and are living off the rest of us = yet have the nerve to attack those who do work for a living.

    Get over yourselves!

  28. When I see this many State Troopers in one spot I think we have too many. What a waste of tax dollars!

  29. They did stop this. It was and is more dangerous than the actual speeders. They are creating a dangerous situation. Any police officer getting struck by a car deserves what they get.

  30. 8:25am

More likely these are upstanding intelligent citizens who recognize the idiocracy at work.

And your whole post belongs somewhere else as you just want to attack people critical of your beloved LEO/tax collectors.

  31. 8:54 - you're right - let Wicomico County continue to raise your taxes and fees instead.

  32. Brand new MSP Caprice totaled by drunk driver and Trooper injured. Drunk driver at fault blowing through red light. Speeders are just as guilty in breaking the law. Guess keeping the roads safe isn't important according to most of the posts on here. Next time it could be you or someone you love.

Look up the court records for that drunk driver. He was caught with alcohol before he was 21. He also was at fault of a three car accident about a year ago that he was also charged with dui. Seems the courts are not doing what they are suppose to do to keep the law breakers behind bars where they need to be.

  34. It's OK. They wear safety vests.

  35. I did it for 7 years working a traffic Barrack. I never caused a crash, never even close. There are shoulders or turn lanes to pull over to. I would direct the car I wanted over to a safe place in a safe manner. If everyone is driving without rectal cranial inversion, not following too closely, and not texting, it's very simple to slow down and pull to the shoulder. In the event that other cars would pull over because they were unsure if I was directing them to stop, they were thanked for stopping, and encouraged to continue driving safely. What some people tend to forget is that the oath I took was to uphold the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Maryland, enforcing all laws, including criminal and traffic. I'm sorry, but I have witnessed entirely too many young drivers killed in crashes because they were speeding. I have notified too many parents that a loved one is dead. It's much harder when it is a single vehicle crash, and they have nobody else to blame. No, I don't have anything better to do than slow speeders down, reduce traffic crashes, and help save lives. So, don't roll through that stop sign, try and beat that red light, use the shoulder to pass, or speed. You stand a better chance of getting where you want to go if you slow down, obey the rules of the road, and drive like it is a privilege, because it IS.

  36. Thanks, 206, for your comment. You lucked out. Accidents have been caused by this method. It's fact, and you are an idiot for promoting it for your brothers. Go back living with your mom.

  37. No, I think you driving while taking a picture is more dangerous. Keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel moron!

    ReplyDelete
  38. 12:26
Fear not. As I already stated I was NOT driving when I took this picture moron!
