President Obama's Trip Could Fund 1,350 Weeks of White House Tours

If you haven’t heard yet, President Obama is planning a big trip to Africa. The estimated cost of this trip is $100 million for a weeklong adventure to 3 different countries. After this news came out, many started to question the importance of the trip and the steep price tag. Well finally today, Rep. George Holding from North Carolina stepped forward to speak out against the President’s extravagant trip.

Holding said on the House floor,

"For the cost of this trip to Africa, you could have 1,350 weeks of White House tours, which the White House has canceled indefinitely due to budget constraints.”

  6. It's high time for Congress to cut funds to this corrupt and deceitful administration and to their secret courts, the Dept of Homeland Security and a whole host of other anti-Constitutional agencies. I've written Andy Harris about this, you should too.
PS. You can probably forget writing to Mikulski and Cardin, they're so far up Obama's rectum they'd never hear you anyway.

5:03 you as Obama Lover, please tell us how many presidents suspended tours of the White House, and folowed that with 150 million TAXPAYERS DOLLARS trip to Africa. None. Hey, why not use their own money on this trip? Because Yes, We Can. And maybe we stop in Florida to have few rounds of golf with Tiger Woods, On Taxpayers Dime, of course.

  8. So anything someone else has done before, obammy can do too eh?

Not very good logic especially when you consider that would include any wrong things.

When exactly did this country flip and good became bad, bad became good, lies are the truth and truth gets you killed?

I don't recognize this country anymore. We have become what we used to fight against.

  9. Presidents make trips. All of them. But some how this one is not supposed to because of some sort of made up anger about it? Or play gulf? The trip is important in the long run.

I think this way of thinking is silly and more akin to jealousy than anything else. Your side lost. If we can move beyond that we can be so much better.

Yes that is correct. Africa is becoming more important globally. If we don't create a hand hold now, it will be lost to China.

    Go educate yourself on this.

I believe its called sequestration. Never happened before. It is the result if congress not able to actually work for their pay.
You guys have to grow up. Everything a president does is on the tax payers dime. Please move on.

  13. lol, 503, this is the Obama updside down world remember. Suddenly he shouldn't have the same security detail, he shouldn't be engaging with foreign leaders, and if he does go anywhere, he should fly in coach. Thats about the extent of this crowd's logic.

You have to be joking, right? Please say you were...

This country is in a mess, financially and filled with scandals, cutbacks, furloughs, suspensions, etc. That is not the time to visit ANY other country, let alone Africa. And, btw, the country lost... not one side or the other. You are a complete and utter joke of an American.

  15. LOL- 6:06 what planet are you on? Africa is becoming a hotbed of Islamic extremism. The only reason they would ever become "important globally" is to the arms dealers and/or us sending free (unless you are a tax payer) stuff to them on the lobbying of those who will profit such as big food manufacturers.
This is how it works in the real world and not the fantasy, propaganda laden democratic world. "Important globally"-I'm still laughing!

  16. Gotta love the "jealously" thing. No one in their right mind would ever be jealous of Obama. For a lot of people (including myself) you couldn't pay us enough to breath the same air as him. A lot of people would even walk out of a room if he showed up unexpectedly. Happened years ago when Al Gore showed up at a very expensive restaurant in a nearby beach town. Not everyone is blind and in awe of the misfit failure.

  17. I had hopped he and his Offspring were moving back to Africa, but alas no luck. Too bad, because with his kind here in America, they have continued to be a drain on our economy, exactly what many folks said when the emancipation was going on, "Now we will have to support them", and this is exactly what we got, their free and get everything for free!

  18. It's Africa because he's not welcome in places he would really like to be seen such as Martha's vineyard. First year Obama's tried that and the affluent African Americans who reside there were not pleased even calling the wife a "ghetto girl." Put them right in their place and they've not been back since.

  19. The US pharmaceutical industry is another one pushing the "Africa important globally" propaganda. They would stand to benefit hugely from this myth being realized.
It's a darn shame that everyone can't spend a few years working and observing what really goes on "inside the beltway" to get the real understanding of how things work.

6:02 and 6:06 we can argue about the IMPORTANCE of this Africa trip any way you can, "globally important" and "all presidents make trips". If you think its worth 150 million TAXPAYERS DOLLARS then you are either high or an idiot or both. Let me just ask this - how is playing golf in Florida with Tiger Woods on taxpayers dime have ANY BENEFIT FOR THE TAXPAYERS? Is it globally important?

  22. Thank you Anon 1141
Yes Africa is becoming important globallyvespecially to China. Think oil. Go ahead actually look it up. By the way Africa is a continue not a country. I know some of you hate Obama but please educate yourself on this.

As for the cost of a Presidents travels, yes we have to pay for that. It comes with the job. You will do it for the next President also. You are going to have to deal with it.

As for the so called scandals. There are none out that we didn't know about previously. On fact you can find stories about the NSA in 2005.

Read more and then you will know.

I didn't know about all of them. Congress didn't know all of them. Heck, even holdback and obammy didn't know about them so they say.

Maybe you need to share what you have been reading to the rest of us and his admin.
