First Lady Michelle Obama Claims Ritzy Digs During Irish Visit

First lady Michelle Obama is sparing no expense on her trip to Ireland, staying at a $3,300-per-night hotel suite in Dublin.

Irish press reports Monday said Mrs. Obama and her entourage have booked 30 rooms in the five-star Shelbourne hotel. The first lady is said to be staying in the Princess Grace Suite, named for the Hollywood film star and princess who had an attachment to the room.

The suite has two guest bedrooms, a living room and a dining area, according to the hotel’s website. There are four phones, three large televisions, bedding of 100 percent Egyptian cotton, a Nespresso machine and butler service.

The cost of the two-day trip in Ireland and Northern Ireland has been estimated at around $5 million. U.S. taxpayers pay the cost of the first family’s travel.

  1. It would be cheaper to get a house in Dublin and maintain it for 2 years.

  3. First of all she IS the First Lady of the United States of America. Secondly, where do you propose she stay; a Super 8?

  4. Super 8 is too good for her.

  5. 10:41, please. Of course she deserves more than a Super 8. But 5 million dollars? And why is her entourage so big she needs 30 rooms?! My family has not been on a vacation, or spent one night away from our house since 2009. But we work hard and are blessed and thankful for all we have. What we are reading about here is outrageous and selfish behavior.

  10. Next on the Obama vacation agenda- A 100million trip to Africa.

  11. If the President is not part of the entourage, the taxpayers shouldn't pay.

  12. She should stay home. We are already paying for it.

OR Projects is a good one.

  13. It is a already allocated in the budget, so why not use it? Let's not attack the first lady for the structure of the budget.

Say that presidential travel expenses are set at $2 million per year (no accuracy, lets just say this). Not only has the president presented that in the US budget, but congress has passed it! And if the $2 million isn't used up, it simply disappears.

If you were faced with these options, wouldn't you do the same?

  14. It is truly time for Congress to cut the purse-strings for these extravagant 'vacation travels' this administration has undertaken. Tell Congress how you feel about it.., and while you're at it mention cutting funding to the many other illegal operations being exposed.

  17. 12:47 commented..it is in the budget. I had not thought of that possibility but I would not be surprised. Government will NOT discontinue anything from the past for fear of losing the funding to do something in the future. At the end of the year the budget had to be spent down or you couldn't get that money for the next budget. Sad but I know it is true.

11:04 Said it right. Agreed 100%. Her "Entourage" in 30 rooms paid by Taxpayers, is absolutely LUDICROUS. But Im sure they will come later on TV and say and pretend like "Hey, we are just regular folks like you" nonsense. And those school students who were suppose to have the tours in the White House, oh well thats because of those Sequester Cuts, blah blah blah. And a lot of Obama Lovers will probably believe it, just because they believe everything they get spoon fed to them by MSM, maybe they are just too naive or dumb, or jiust plain lazy to check and verify the facts and start doing some thinking on their own.

  19. Why are you all worried about this? They don't care since he can't run again anyway. They are only in this "job" for the money and to run the country down. I guess she is "proud" of her country again since we have to pay for their trips. Now he is part IRISH?? Will it ever end with them?

First "Lady?" Try again. A lady has morals and class. This freak has neither. A lady has good judgment and uses common sense. This freak does neither.
A lady will not stand up in front of the American public and lie no matter who her husband is. A lady would not have ever sat in that church as listened to what "rev" Wright spat out. A lady would not ever breath the same air as certain 'musicians' who espouse violence, call women 'hoes' and promote other uncivilized behavior much less entertain them.
A lady she is not-try first class ghetto mamma.
