  2. Screw them, and ask the mayor about the rain tax.

  3. Rain tax is not applicable in Wicomico. It's effective in 9 counties and Balto city only.

Most of the areas that are subject to the rain tax are infested with liberals.

Poetic justice if you ask me.

  10. WELL, THAT'S THE DEATH KNELL! Good lord, Tim and Terrie just handed the council over to Day! I guess fighting that would be futile, and making Laura vice pres makes them the accountable ones, so probably the best playbook strategy.
It's just too bad we have to endure another 2.8 years of demise to convince voters they NEED to go to the polls on election day!

I'm fixing the place up for sale in the meantime, though.

    1. You are ignorant...the guys fiance was running in an event where two bombs went off. Any normal person would be concerned for her well being and not busting on him for undersandably being late to a Council Meeting due to what is apparently not a big deal to you.

  15. From the Daily Rag: Ireton is raising taxes already. This is an outrageous tax increase that will be rammed down our throats.

"The newly reorganized council found its work laid out already. As they left, Ireton handed them three-ring binders holding his budget proposal for the fiscal year that begins July 1.

In it, the mayor setting the property tax rate at $8.84 for every $1,000 of taxable value, a 65-cent increase over the current rate. The boost will help close a $1.1 million gap left by a dip in property values, Ireton wrote.

  19. if the fiance was ok, there is no reason for day to be late. he & presumably she are adults now. There is no such thing as a good excuse.

  20. My pac 14 showed the meeting from April 8

  21. perhaps the mayor needs to do something which will raise property values rather than raise taxes on the lowered value. There's a reason property values decline. Look at that Mrs mayor.

  25. It is not a new Day, it's the Same S&it, Different Day. We went from Michael Day to Jacob Day. Salisbury will be sold down the tubes in less than a year.

  26. What a sad, sad day for Salisbury.

  27. Wait, so an unqualified guy gets voted in to coucil for the first time...and he's already the President? WTF? Do we never have to EARN something anymore? Salisbury is the mecca of entitlement and handouts. Especially to the "prominent" family names.

  28. It's apparent that the Daily Times had the budget before the council did. Poor, stupid Jim. He made a point of waiting until the last minute permitted by the Charter to give the council the budget so that Debbie couldn't take her pencil to it. Perhaps his strategy was to put some needless things in there that his new "majority" could cut so that they will look like heroes and fool the public some more. Please do post a link to the budget materials. Maybe you could have a contest for the best list of cuts.

  29. 12:47 yes...liars and cheaters back in charge, if you ask me. Campbell and Cohen had grace and composure and Liarton took the podium and even tried to take credit for the flowers that Campbell's supporters had gotten for her. Don't believe me...watch the video.

  30. The Tacky Two are the ones who need to be taken to the woodshed for being late.

Jake Day may have been worried about his fiance or held up because of that.

But what's Mitchell and Shields' excuse for not being in those chairs?

Tacky, tacky, tacky. Just had to get their last zinger in on Cohen as president?

  31. Ireton now has his rubber stamps in place to approve his double digit tax hike.

  32. Why the hell is anyone beating up on Tim and Terry for voting for Day?

What were they supposed to do? Nominate each other so the next day headlines could be how awful they are?

Why bother? And maybe they decided to respect the mandate of the people?

I bet Mitchell was not happy. The Daily Times has gone on and on today about the "surprise" of Jake Day getting the presidency. She had her sights set on the president's chair. She just found out what it feels like to have Ireton kick you to the curb, LMAO!
