Maryland House Passes Gun Control Bill

The Maryland House of Delegates has approved its version of a gun control bill backed by Governor Martin O’Malley.

The vote was 78-61.

All of the delegates voting in favor of the bill were Democrats.

Eighteen Democrats joined the 43 Republicans in the House of Delegates in voting against the bill.

The late Wednesday afternoon vote came after delegates debated the bill for more than 11 hours over the last two days.

  4. i see our local democrats voted against the bill. i don't have a warm fuzzy about this because my suspicion is that they voted against it because passage didn't need their votes the same way kratovil voted against cap and trade (after pelosi said it was okay)

  5. Cops should sue and get this changed. This is putting them into harms way. People will shoot cops who come to take their guns and enforce this law.

  6. 10:16 You make me laugh...
It will not be cop's coming to take your only means of defense, it will be 30 Obama brownshirt paramiltary (DHS) breaking down your door at 4 in the morning.
Worse yet, it will be hundreds of them going neighborhood to neighborhood, street by street, with people like Jim Ireton and Chuck Cook supporting them.

  7. I'm glad I moved out of MD. I still own several properties in Wico but refuse to be a resident of MD. Nice place to visit but they will never see a penny of mine in hunting taxes, boat taxes, or income taxes. Good luck to those that stay.
