‘I WILL SPEAK UNTIL I CAN NO LONGER SPEAK’: SEN. RAND PAUL IS DOING AN OLD-SCHOOL FILIBUSTER OF OBAMA’S CIA NOMINEE RIGHT NOW

The Senate Intelligence Committee voted 12 to 3 on Tuesday to confirm John Brennan as the next director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

However, Brennan may have at least one more hurdle to clear before final confirmation, namely, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), who has vowed to block his nomination until the White House provides more information on its secretive drone program.

The Kentucky senator doesn’t have the 41 votes necessary to prevent a cloture vote, which would block Brennan’s confirmation, so he’s doing the only thing he can do: He’s stalling all senate business with an honest-to-goodness, old-fashioned filibuster.

  2. I've got an idea. Cut all the drama. Put forward a bill banning the use of armed drones in US airspace, get the votes, and send it to the president's desk.

  3. this was wonderful. paul, cruz and many more has great speeches regarding our freedoms and liberties and of course the constitution and bill of rights.

as many of you know our constitution has been trampled on, spit on, disregarded, ignored, dismantled and disrespected by this president and his administration.

at some point (drones killing american citizens on american soil without due process of the law) obama and company went too far. thank God it stirred the sleeping giant. i hope this isn't the last time leadership with speak up and fight back.

  5. I think I should own a drone and use it for my protectiong. Second Amendment says so. Founding father would want everyone to own drones.

  6. Alex maybe you are waking up. When the government sanctions the use of drones against American "terrorists" (that definition is somewhat subjective) counter measures will need to be taken by the people.

Unfortunately I know it’s your pathetic attempt at sarcasm.

  7. Hey Alex, it wouldn't do you a bit of good. Judging by your comments here I would venture to guess you couldn't fly a balsa glider so what makes you think you have enough sense to fly a drone?

  8. Hey Alex, you should only be able to voice your opinion via the printing press since that all that was available then. I guess freedom of speech should not apply to television, radio or computer since our founding fathers didn't anticipate them.

  9. the founding fathers did anticipate modern advancements and technology. Lots written about this by them and why Constitution and whatnot written in such broad/vague terms.
