Company Will Move If Colorado Approves Gun Control

ERIE, COLO. – Unnoticed amid dozens of tract homes in the Denver suburbs, a nondescript industrial building is suddenly in the middle of the gun control debate in Colorado.

The company, started in an ex-Marine's basement in 1999, is in a standoff with Colorado Democrats who want to restrict the size of ammunition magazines after mass shootings in a suburban Denver movie theater and a Connecticut elementary school. Magpul has issued lawmakers an ultimatum potentially worth millions: Pass the bill, and the business will move.

It's a bold threat from a company that, by its founder's admission, has distanced itself from politics.

  1. The Dems are at it agin. How to kill off a few more jobs just like Maryland. Time to make the move to one of the many other states that suport the second admenment.

  3. On the one hand, GC measures like banning certain clips and assault rifles are completely misguided and run counter to common sense. On the other, good riddance to this biz. if they want to move. I'm tired of biz blackmailing the political system as it is. The big corporation already have enough sway. If this dude wants to move, then I'm sure there will be a competitor looking to step up and supply the new limited capacity magazine.

  4. 7:13, you are a major problem. If you don't want to abide by our Constitution and Bill of rights, you need to move to a country that agrees with your values. Trust me, you will be much happier there. Don't stay here and push your agenda on others. You will fail.

  15. If CO enacts the current bills I've read this is not the only business that will be leaving. Many, many sportsmen and women will stop bringing $$ into the state. That is going to affect hunting guides, outfitters, land owners who lease hunting and fishing land, lodging facilities and the multitude of associated businesses. Furthermore, CO's Natural Resources Dpt. will see millions of dollars in tag and license revenue disappear.., so CO, go ahead and shoot yourself in the foot, maybe all the new stoners flocking in will replace these millions of dollars.

  16. A company is standing up FOR the constitution and you call that blackmailing the government?

I want you too keep saying that. Tell it to everyone you know and meet.

When tshtf we will know exactly who you are and can take you out with the other freedom killers.

You are allowed to say such crap because OF the 2nd amendment.

But, along with shouting fire in a crowded theater, there are consequences to such abuses of free speech.
