DNREC Fish & Wildlife Enforcement Blotter Jan. 23-30

Reminder for the week: Conservation Order allows snow goose harvest now through April 13

DOVER (Feb. 1, 2013) – To achieve public compliance through education and enforcement actions that help conserve Delaware’s fish and wildlife resources and ensure safe boating and public safety, DNREC Division of Fish & Wildlife Enforcement agents responded to 33 complaints and issued 16 citations between Jan. 23 and 30.
Citations issued by violation type included the following, with the number of charges in parentheses:
Wildlife Conservation:

Hunting on a refuge (2), New Castle County; Driving a motor vehicle off an established roadway in a state wildlife area (2), driving an unlicensed motor vehicle in a state wildlife area (1), damaging state property (1), and trespassing after hours on a state wildlife area (2), Kent County; No hunting license in possession while hunting (2), New Castle and Sussex counties; Hunting migratory waterfowl without state stamp (1), hunting migratory waterfowl without HIP number (1), possession of prohibited toxic lead shot while hunting waterfowl (1), butchering antlerless deer prior to registration (1), and failure to display hunter orange during a firearms deer season (1), Sussex County.
Other: Littering (1), Kent County.
