On Feb. 5, Kathleen Theresa Machen, 47, was arrested on second-degree assault charges after allegedly attacking her fiancé by hitting him in the head with a can of beer. Ocean City police responded to a residence on Philadelphia Ave. near 12th Street and placed Machen under arrest on a second-degree assault charge.
After the arrest for second-degree assault, Machen was taken before a District Court Commissioner and was released on her own recognizance with the specific stipulation she was not to return to the residence nor have any contact with the victim. Apparently, she did not heed that warning and returned to the residence to allegedly assault the victim again.

Assault with a can of beans and a can of beer. A solid case for tighter controls and registration of cans. Or maybe cans should be banned entirely.

ReplyDeleteShe's obviously a drunk and he's no better for continuing to have her around. This is the classic example of "domestic abuse" cases. 2 alcohol and/or drug abusers going at it contantly and thriving on the drama. Now resources will be spent on a domestic abuse counseling and all that other baloney, and they will continue to drink, fight, get arrested.......

ReplyDeleteI'm with 10:09 AM. Where are all the domestic abuse advocates? They would be screaming and prostesting right now if the roles were reversed. This woman should have been held on at leaat $100,000! I,m sure if the victim had defended himself he would be sitting in jail right now.
