Secession Petitioners Near 1 Million, Oil-Rich States' Signers Have Leverage

Almost a million Americans have signed secession petitions to President Obama requesting that their states be allowed to peacefully leave the United States, some saying the empire's collapse is inevitable, but those in oil-rich states, Louisiana and Texas, leaders in the secession rally cry, might have more leverage, suggesting the movement is another example of "Astroturf."

Almost one million people, including Americans in each of the 50 states, have signed secession petitions to President Obama, around 0.2% of all Americans, but Louisiana and Texas might have more leverage due to their oil, according to news reports citing author Bob Smiley.
