Laurence Pope Replaces Ambassador Chris Stevens
The new State Department point man for Libya has arrived in Tripoli to take control of the embassy. Laurence Pope, a career foreign service officer returning from retirement, replaces Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed in an attack on a compound in Benghazi last month. Pope speaks Arabic and served the State Department for 31 years. He was ambassador to Chad and director of counter-terrorism. Pope will serve as charge d'affairs until the Obama administration nominates a new ambassador.
Wonder if Hillary will give him 3 men for protection, or just make him stand there in the middle of the burnt out shell....
ReplyDeleteHope he takes a gun with him. Obama will not protect him from the Muslims, being a Muslim himself. Without support from our own President I would have not taken that job. Mr. Pope will be dead soon because Obama will just let it happen.
ReplyDeletewhy bother to have an ambassador there? To what purpose?
