We've been told there were hundreds of cars and trucks surrounding Eden's American Paving Corp.

They said it looked as though they are auctioning off everything.

  5. This is one I can't understand, it seemed to me that over half the roads on Delmarva were paved with the flood of stimulus money. What happened with this company? Did the owners pull all the profits out , and save none for a rainy day?

  6. The same thing happened that happened to Solyndra, Evergreen, A123, Abound Solar, Satcom, etc.

All of these received stimulus - but bottom line is they cannot make it in this type of regulatory environment.

Let Obama get out there and blacktop it himself. With the Independence cards, and section 8 housing - heck who needs to work anyway.

  7. The fact is that they were simply bought by another business with their own equipment that will pick up where they left off. I am pretty sure the owner reaped his rewards during the developer hay day that ended up screwing all of us. You know, when the banks, appraisers, and developers were all making money hand over fist at our expense. But that is okay....blame it on the government....not the greedy that really caused the problem. Answer this, a ton of blacktop from this company ten years ago was $35, now $75. Hell of an inflation heh?

The reason the costs of blacktop went so high is because fuel doubled. Blacktop is a petroleum based product.

  9. 804, milk was $2, now $4.20, bread was $.68, now $1.98, Gas was $2, now $4. Asphalt makers drink milk, eat bread, and drive to work.

    Where have you been?
