Today's Survey Question 2-13-12

Do you believe the Wicomico County Board of Education Meetings

should be held on PAC14?

  1. Great idea! PAC-14 is for the community, and the BOE is as important to us as the City and County Council meetings.

  2. If they have nothing to hide..why not.

  3. It should be known to ALL, I brought up this question to a County Council Member and this morning he checked into it for me. The result was, PAC 14 would be more than happy to air it. They also stated the idea was presented to Fredericksen and he flat out said, NO.

Considering all of the contraversial problems ongoing with the BOE, I suggested the BOE hold their meetings in the GOB so it can be aired on PAC 14.

PAC14 stated they would need a feed line at the BOE and perhaps some additional lighting but it could be done there with the proper help.

I'm thinking, wouldn't some college students be interested in helping out and making this a reality.

Nevertheless, the ball is now rolling but we need to hear from YOU.

  4. Yes, everyone should be able to see them on Pac-14

  5. Positively, absolutely yes. If Frederickson said NO, what does he have to hide? We want to know, what are you hiding? Pac 14 is willing to do this, it should be done.

  6. IMHO, Dr. Fredericksen is out of control. Could it be his inflated ego, or does he have something to hide? Why not have more transparency from our local governments?

  7. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely".

You could not be more on target. A king would see PAC 14 as an intrusion in his throne room. Why is it his decision anyway? This is a Board meeting, not a superintendent's meeting.

  9. Shouldn't this decision be the board's and not the superintendent's?

  10. CONTROL. The newspaper and local TV stations seem loathe to allow any coverage of negative stories from the WCBOE. If PAC 14 got in on it, he would have no control, especially over public comments and questions. Someone should tell him he serves the public, not the other way around.

  11. The good Dr. Is he a bully, a dictator or a tyrant?

  12. Joe, can this be moved to the top so more people can see it and vote? Move the McGuire people down maybe?

  13. 3:33 u are right. U can see why board members may want to renew a leader like this one. Sure.

  14. Visit the WCBOE website and look under policies...there is a policy about this issue. Now we need to make them follow it!

  15. Yes!!

Here is 2 suggestions for the Wicomico County Board of Education members.

    1) Vote not to renew Dr. Fredericksen's contract.

    2) Televise all WCBOE meetings.

  16. Absolutely, without a doubt. The public has a right to know what occurs in these meeting.

  17. Joe, please reconsider and attend the meeting tomorrow. Encourage others to do the same. Even though the vote won't be taken, if only a few come, it's like telling the board we're either not interested or they're doing such a fine job we see no reason to oversee what they're doing. Please come!

  18. Tell Fredericksen that have meeting open on pac 14 to show how honest he is. If not, cut funding to BOE in half.

  19. All but personnel actions, yes. Not sure Fredericksen is as bad as some make him to be. More about how bad the entire WBOE and the education system is, period. Who would take his place? One of the idiots who are at Long Street now? That would be even worse. Someone else from afar who could be worse? I'm not sure what the answer is or whether the result of getting rid of him would place us in a worse position. We just need to clean house at Long Street and start all over.

  20. Please move this to the top!

    My answer is yes!

  21. Personnel issues should be kept private. However, Moses and Messicks leave was made very public in a special meeting of all central office employees. Rules in this county are broken all the time. Public humiliation should not be allowed on PAC 14, 101 Long Avenue or any other public forum.

  22. Yes. It is our community and tax dollars. We have the RIGHT to know word for word what is going on
