Mike Dunn Is A Fire Cracker

We're told by experts, (after researching this topic) that the location Mike Dunn has allegedly leased for an alleged Salisbury Fireworks Display can only fire off fireworks 1/2 the size of ALL surrounding 4th of July shows in Wicomico County.

So, if you'd like to go to a kiddie show, support Mike Dunn's, (I'll take away your fireworks and then bring them back) mini show.

If you want to see real fireworks, go to the Willards show, Hebron show, Cambridge show, Ocean City show or a Shorebirds show.

Leave it to the Main Stream Media to leave the important parts out. Good luck with the parking too.

  1. A town the size of Willards puts on a terrific 4th of July fireworks show. Look at the size of Salisbury and they can't even get the dern things off the ground and up in the air. I'll stick with Willards.

  3. anonymous 3:57, I already do, where have you been for the past 3 years. Salisbury News has supported the Willards Fireworks since day one. Nice try.

  4. WOW, we've really pissed off somebody! We seem to be rejecting a LOT of comments on this Post. So much so they're even going after my Wife.

  5. Thanks for the heads up. I was excited about fireworks returning to Salisbury but there's no way I'm bringing the family to this one.

  6. The Hebron show was excellent, with a treat of having the Hebron Firemen's Carnival a few feet away.

  8. I wonder where they are going to park everyone. The last thing I want to do is have to walk a mile carrying everything we usually take with us. We have had fun down in Willards the past few years I think I will stay in a town with less crime.

  10. Thanks for the heads-up on Willards. After your announcement last year - my wife and I attended the event at Willards. What a great fireworks show.

As for Dunn's attempt to pre-empt Willards event - I have no plans to attend. Especially after I saw The Daily Times endorsement of the fireworks show.

It seems as though anything The Daily Times endorses - the consumer had better head for the hills. I'm sure everyone can tell there is a TREMENDOUS difference in The Daily Times verses SBYnews. The Daily Times is contrived news whereby SBYnews is the real deal.

I dropped the DT rag more than (2) years ago and have never regretted it.

  11. Can't make 'em big because of nearby development. That's why they stopped doing them in Salisbury in the first place.

  12. I will not participate with anything this guy is involved with. I think we've had enough of Mike Dunn to last a lifetime and leftovers for our children.

  13. I know Mike, have known him since Jr High, and don't care for him. Ever time I see pictures of him I think boy was he glad that council members aren't drug tested!

  14. 3:57-

There are already lots of fireworks shows on the 4th -- too many IMHO, because of so many more important matters that need money to fix (like roads amd schools, etc.). This jackaroo Mikey Dunn is simply pandering to us and trying to wrap himself in the flag.

PS -- was he ever in the armed forces?

  16. Willards is always a good time with no crime. Salisbury is a jungle - complete with all the animals. Nope....I'll be going back to Willards.

  17. Fireworks are much better in St. Petersburg FL....right on the beach, ability to see 3 different shows from the middle beach and alcohol friendly as long as its in a can. Lay back on a towel and gaze up at a great show. Anything on the shore is sub par, fireworks, festivals, concerts, etc. Small towns and small minds.

  18. Now that I am no longer active in fireworks, I can now comment without fear of people thinking I am speaking for monetary gain.

I would love to see fireworks come back to Salisbury, but this smells. What are Dunn's motives? I smell a bid at reelection.
The site chosen is poor at best. The site will only support small shells which means the spectators at any distance or with obstructions will see little to nothing. Also, as many people have stated, parking and traffic congestion will be a major issue. You can't move in that area during rush hour now. Can you imagine the congestion for an event this size?
There are still a few sites that lend themselves to a good show in Salisbury, but every site I suggested in the past were nixed by the powers that be.

Where were these people for all of the years that the Jaycees killed themselves to put on a show on a shoe string budget with a shoe string staff?

As far as I am concerned, Hebron and Willards are much better sites in many aspects. Hebron does get tight on parking, but the carnival gives families something to keep the kids occupied while waiting and the shells are much larger allowing viewing from a distance.
Willards is a great event for families. They need your support to keep this going. If you have never attended, I urge you to do so. It is truly a wonderful experience!!!!!
Again, I applaud the effort, but feel there are better options.

  19. Willards is a great show. Many go not only for the fireworks but it's a community event. The kids can play in the field while they wait and the adults can talk with people they know. They do a great job of getting the traffic in and out of the event. Willards is what fireworks are all about. Family, fun and having your friends, neighbors with you to celebrate.

  20. This may be Dunn's way of testing the chnaces of an election bid. He's dumb and arrogant enough to think he may have a chance at the mayors seat.

  21. I would never support Mike in anything he attempted to do. Everything he touches turns to s***!
