On 911 surcharge, Worcester County gov’t gets a hang-up
(March 11, 2011) So many Worcester County residents have stopped their landline telephone service that the county Emergency Services Department is seeing its revenue decrease by $50,000. “Most people are cutting off their phones,” David Fitzgerald of the Emergency Services Department told the Worcester County Commissioners during a budget work session Tuesday.
