GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO CONTINUE “JOBS ACROSS MARYLAND TOUR” WITH MINORITY BUSINESS CONFERENCE

Governor to address the state of minority business enterprise in Maryland

ANNAPOLIS, MD
– Governor Martin O’Malley will continue the “Jobs Across Maryland Tour” by joining Lt. Governor Anthony Brown, Congressman John Sarbanes, County Executive James Smith, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, along with more than 300 of small business owners, advocates and officials tomorrow at “MBE University,” an initiative the Governor launched to support Maryland’s minority- and women-owned businesses and to highlight the state’s MBE program, the oldest and most aggressive in the nation.

Local business owners will attend the Baltimore-area conference where the Governor will address the state of minority business in Maryland. The event will consist of workshops and a plenary session where the Governor will address attendees at 9:00 a.m.

The “Jobs Across Maryland Tour” includes stops in every region of our State, visiting with large and small Maryland businesses, public schools and career-training programs throughout Maryland. At each stop, Governor O’Malley promotes efforts to save and create jobs, including the passage of the emergency Job Creation and Recovery Tax Credit, which offers a $5,000 tax credit for every unemployed Marylander a company hires.
