for the people that knew the truck driver i just want to let you know that he did not pass alone i was there with him holding his hand untill the EMS said he had no pulce. i wish there was something i could of done but there wasn't. but he was not alone. my deepest sympathies to the family

My husband is a truck driver and I have to say to all of those with the smart butt comments, you have no clue how respectful and hard working these men are. There are few others on the road with the experience and skill these men and women possess. Many accidents are avoided by the truck driver when the civilian driver decides to put on make up or answer the cell phone, so don't judge all by a select few. If it weren't for truck drivers you would not live the life you currently are.
Rest in peace sir and to his family, may God be with you during these difficult times.

ReplyDeleteI gave up my driving job to be a supervisor and I can only say it takes a special breed. A good friend of mine has known and worked with Tommy for almost 10 years, and in fact drove that same truck every night. My thoughts are with Tom's family and all Eagle drivers, especially Tom Thompson who shares that truck with Tommy. It makes it hard to go back to work when you see someone die doing what you do every day.
ReplyDeleteHe gave back so much. He took the job even though he was qualified to be a teacher so he could be free to travel with Broadwater academy's volleyball team as an assistant coach.
ReplyDeleteMy dad was the driver of the truck in this fatal accident. We are all beside ourselves at this point and at a loss of words and emotions besides sadness. My mother, sister and I are lost right now. If the blogger on the second comment reads this we would love to talk to you. You are the closest to anything we have right now to closure.
