Wolverines Wrestling Gears Up For Season

Registration is Open for Young Wrestlers in Grades 2-8

(Salisbury, MD)
The Wolverines Youth Wrestling program will begin another season of action and excitement beginning in November. The program is open to children in grades 2 through grade 8 and will focus on fundamental wrestling skills, sportsmanship, competition, and pure enjoyment of the sport. In addition, participants will increase self-esteem and self-confidence, along with improving strength, coordination, flexibility, and endurance.

The season will begin during the week of November 16-20 and will conclude in mid-March, 2010. Sessions will take place on Monday and Wednesday evenings during the winter months at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center from 6-7:30 pm. Alternate weeknights may be used periodically during the season based on gym availability.

Registration is now open at the Civic Center Box Office and on-line registration is also accepted at http://www.wicomicorecandparks.org/. The cost of the program is $60 per child for Wicomico County residents and $65 per child for out-of-county residents. Weekend tournaments are also available for wrestlers but require additional fees and increased parental involvement.

For more information contact Steve Miller at 410-548-4900 ext. 105 or email smiller@wicomicocounty.org.

  1. Wolverines? Are we trying to be politically correct and not use the mascot the Warriors?
