I'm Calling It A Night

Considering a select few have chosen to post nasty comments, I'm turning off anonymous comments for the evening. I will continue to do so while I am away from the computer for periods of time. Thank You for understanding. I'll add, ANY more comments with curse words will also be deleted from here on out. Do as I say, not as I do. LOL

The Best Post Ever

Not only did this Post kick butt in only being up for 24 hours, there are already 121 comments and growing. Sadly however, Fire Fighters have become so angry and rude they have been attacking my Wife with sexual disgusting comments I've had to delete.

GO HERE to see the comments but you better have the time to do so. I enjoy the fact that I slammed each and every Fire Fighter who could be guilty of being racists and the comments will clearly prove many of those Idiots need serious help, yet Barrie Tilghman couldn't care less. She only reads and saves the comments that are against her personally for her lawsuit.

I don't think I have ever seen a Post anywhere else with that many comments. I'm NOT saying it hasn't happened. I'm saying "I" haven't seen it happen elsewhere. Are you proud of your men now Chief See and Deputy Chief Gordy? You've done a wonderful job and it clearly shows they haven't let you down on just how you educated them and trained them.

The Lighthouse Diner On S. Salisbury Blvd. Closed?

The word on the street is that the Light House Diner on S. Salisbury has been shut down by the EPA. Something about a bad pipe that hasn't been fixed in a timely manner? I have been told, BUT NOT CONFIRMED allegedly, "the EPA shut down the Lighthouse Restaurant for suposedly dumping sewage into the creek/stream/river."

I tried calling their business, 410-749-5515 and there's no answer. Considering I called at 11:30, one would think they would be eager to answer for the upcoming lunch business, so it must have some credibility.

I'll look into it more and keep you updated.........

Gilchrest Accused Of "Dirty Tricks'

GO HERE for original article.

October 26, 2007

By Tom LoBianco - ANNAPOLIS - Supporters of state Sen. Andrew P. Harris' campaign to unseat Rep. Wayne T. Gilchrest say the incumbent's top aide pushed another candidate into the Republican primary to dilute support for Mr. Harris.

"This is [Mr. Gilchrest's] insurance card that he doesn't lose the race," said state Sen. Nancy Jacobs, Harford County Republican. "It's dirty tricks. It's what goes on behind the scenes. But to get caught with your hand in the cookie jar."

Mrs. Jacobs and other Harris supporters say Tony Caligiuri, Mr. Gilchrest's chief of staff, asked Robert Joseph Banks to enter the race.

Mr. Harris is the strongest challenger to Mr. Gilchrest, who has held the 1st Congressional District seat for nine terms.

Although Mr. Gilchrest has fended off strong challengers before, his vote against the Democrat-backed Iraq war resolution in March and a redistricting plan in 2002 have made him more vulnerable to defeat.

Mr. Gilchrest has further alienated the Republican base by supporting full congressional voting rights for the District, frequently siding with environmentalists and testifying in 2004 against a proposal by Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. to legalize slot machines.

Mr. Ehrlich, a Republican, recently gave his support to Mr. Harris, Baltimore and Harford counties Republican, who spent four years working for votes for him in the Democrat-controlled General Assembly and helped raise $180,000 for Mr. Ehrlich's unsuccessful re-election bid last year.

State Democrats restructured Mr. Gilchrest's district in 2002 to include metropolitan Baltimore, which cuts into his Eastern Shore base.

Eastern Shore lawyers Frank M. Kratovil Jr. and Christopher R. Robinson are running for the Democratic nomination. The primary is Feb. 12, and the general election is Nov. 4, 2008.

Mrs. Jacobs said one of her former staffers now working for the Gilchrest campaign told her about the plan to enlist Mr. Banks, a technology executive.

Mr. Banks yesterday denied the accusations.

"Absolutely not," he said. "It sounds like a vast right-wing conspiracy."

Mr. Banks entered the race this month, increasing the number of Republicans to five and thinning the chances for a challenger to defeat Mr. Gilchrest.

Mr. Caligiuri denied asking Mr. Banks to run and said Mrs. Jacobs is "really kind of losing it."

"She's swinging at shadows at this point," he said yesterday. "Last I heard, Banks was criticizing Gilchrest."

Mr. Banks is the only candidate who does not live in the district. He lives in Baltimore City, but federal law does not require a candidate to live in the district they want to represent.

Mr. Harris' campaign calls Mr. Banks' entry into the race an attempt by the Gilchrest campaign to confuse voters.

"This is the worst form of dirty tricks campaigning," said Chris Meekins, Mr. Harris' campaign manager. "Sadly, that is what we have come to expect from Wayne Gilchrest. This is exactly why Republican voters are looking for new leadership."

Whether Mr. Banks was asked to enter the race remains in dispute, but he clearly opposed Mr. Harris' bid this summer.

He said Mr. Gilchrest was the Republicans' best chance to hold the seat.

"I feel that to risk bruising up one of our guys and weaken him for a general [election] or knocking him off in a primary and fielding a strongly conservative candidate may open the doors for an unknown to pick up this seat," he said in an e-mail to the Harris campaign obtained by The Washington Times.

His run has prompted former U.S. Rep. Helen Delich Bentley, a Republican and Harris supporter, to ask him to drop out.

Mrs. Bentley also thinks Mr. Caligiuri pushed Mr. Banks into running.

"That is the general feeling," she said. "Whenever you get a lot of people in the primary, the incumbent usually wins."

Local Farmers Compete To Pimp Their Rides!

If any of you are wondering why the cost of Dog Food, gas and so many other items have gone through the roof recently, take a good hard look at your local Corn Farmer and ask him/her, WHO PIMPS YOUR RIDE?

It seems to me this Wicomico County Farmer is loving life. Perhaps it's about time?

Around The Blogosphere

The pickins are becoming more and more slim any more. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Today, when you look around the local Blogosphere there are fewer choices. Many of the Anti Albero Blogs are disappearing.

Bill Duvall isn't worth reading any more, seriously. What used to be the best Blog on the Eastern Shore is nothing short of, GO HERE and CLICK HERE information created elsewhere.

Delmarva Dealings has been just like a car running out of gas. Every so often it kicks back and sputters, acting is if it's going to come back to life again, then it dies out.

The few remaining Anti Albero Blogs have simply lost credibility and people have grown tired of the bitching and complaining about one single person, Joe Albero. They offer no news at all and they've dropped in comments and posts like there's no tomorrow.

Could it be that Salisbury News has no competition any longer? Will my only real competition be The Daily Times Blogs? I have only gone there once, (honest to God) since they started them and I have yet to ever hear or read that anyone else has remarked about a single story in them.

It is very time consuming to do a decent Blog and of course there's always the threats of a lawsuit. I love the one about the Anti Albero people threatening a Class Action Suit against me. Here's the funny part. These people are "anonymous" and they think they're going to sue me. Now that cracks me up. Or as Larry the Cable Guy says, Now that there is some funny stuff. Hey anonymous, you're an a hole. I can't wait for that lawsuit too. LOL

Then there's the one guy who claims I'm a Terrorist. Love the Towel Head picture too! Robinson has a Blog, then he doesn't have a Blog. Then he gets pissed off again and starts up another Blog, then he shuts it down again. He should get to know Doug Church better because Doug does the exact same thing on a regular basis. Charles Jannace has finally given up the ghost, (from what I can tell) and he's still got his Blog but he hasn't posted anything in several months. I'm happy to see he's moved on and grown up.

Anyhow, although the pickins are getting slimmer, we still have Michael Shwartz who tells details like there's no tomorrow but doesn't have very interesting Posts. He's more about politics and does in fact cover it well. However, people tend to fall asleep arriving into the second paragraph. Then he covers stuff like local Bands. I'm sorry but people in our age groups are raising kids and have many other things to do than to go out to Night Clubs and watch the local Bands.

I can tell you that there will be a pleasant surprise coming to Delmarva starting next week. I can't tell you what it is but I will say that you're going to see a LOT more of Salisbury News being exposed through the Media and partnerships being born to create the Blog Industry in a much bigger way.

As a matter of fact you'll even see television commercials promoting the local Blogs in the very near future. The Daily Times has no idea what's coming. All I can tell you is it is a win/win situation for Salisbury News. Wanna buy some ad space? LOL

IF you have a Blog and want to participate you'll need to make Posts each and every day. You'll need to have been around for at least 90 days and your Blog will need to be informative about local information. If you'd like to get involved just contact me and I'll see what I can do to get you on board as well.

I wonder what will become of this Post and if we might see a few more Blogs kick up out of nowhere now? Remember, it's a lot of work and if you're just going to sit around and pick on me, you're not going to survive. Even Bill Duvall gave up on me after a while because people just couldn't stand it. Good Luck!

Prices

Last night I made a run up to Sam's Club to pick up a few items we were running low on.

When I got to the Pet Food Isle I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. Dog Food rose 25% almost overnight!

Look, this is just getting crazy! I love my animals and I'll pay whatever it costs to keep them happy as well. However, a 25% increase is just ridiculous out of nowhere. The last time I believe I said something it was about how they made the cat food bags smaller and the price of it went up a good 25%, if not more.

I just wonder when Americans are going to freak out, yes, even over something so stupid? There has to come a time when everyone says enough is enough. Just look what we're paying for a gallon of milk or a pound of meat. These are tangible items too.

Oh well, if you can't afford it any more, more than likely crime will go way up and people will simply start stealing it. No, I don't mean 50 pound bags of Dog Food. I mean like the Mob stealing the entire truck load.
