Editor’s note: The media’s double standard when it comes to sexual assault allegations is once again in the spotlight. Until very recently, there had been little media attention paid to an accusation of sexual assault against former Vice President Joe Biden. (Biden denies he assaulted Tara Reade, a former aide to Biden.) Just last year, the media similarly was largely quiet about an allegation of sexual assault against another liberal politician, Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax.
But it’s not just the media. In stark contrast to the “believe all women” mantra heard ad nauseam when Justice Brett Kavanaugh faced allegations of sexual assault, liberal icons are now stepping up in support of Biden, effectively admitting they don’t “believe all women.”
So we’re republishing this article from 2019 that looked at the hypocrisy of the left on this topic of sexual assault.
Feminists haven’t been this silent since the Bill Clinton years.

Did FBI Operative's Lie Launch Flynn Investigation, And Did IG Horowitz Run Cover?
For those who haven't been paying attention, recently unsealed materials in the case against former Trump National Security Advisor Mike Flynn all but prove that the FBI set him up with a perjury trap (a 'squeeze' which even Bloomberg's Eli Lake says 'undermines the rule of law').
And as the case against Flynn continues to unravel, perhaps the most important dots have been connected by investigative researcher @JohnWHuber, better known as "Undercover Huber" on Twitter, who makes a cogent argument that Stefan Halper - the portly spy who the FBI used to conduct espionage on the Trump campaign during the 2016 US election - may have sparked the Flynn investigation after lying to the FBI.
What's more, IG Michael Horowitz's report makes no mention of the lie, or the recently-learned fact that the FBI tried to close the Flynn case, dubbed 'Crossfire Razor', in Jan. 2017, only for agent Peter Strzok to go 'off the rails' and demand it not be closed.

The Case Of General Flynn: Exposing Washington's "Big Game Of Liars' Poker"
The case of General Flynn, which has dragged on for years now, may finally be reaching a denouement. He was charged with and pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI during the Russian collusion hoax. For reasons that have not been clear, he was never sentenced. Now it appears he may never see jail and will instead see his case dropped and his guilty plea vacated. New evidence shows he was framed by members of the FBI and Department of Justice.
As is standard procedure in this age, state media has been silent on the matter, but alternative media sources are reporting on the release of classified documents hidden by the government from Flynn’s defense team in violation of the law. Thousands of documents held by his former defense team and hidden from Flynn and his new attorney’s until now have also been released in what appears to be a damage control operation by the law firm Covington & Burling.
What these new FBI documents reveal is the FBI and Department of Justice carefully planned to entrap General Flynn by tricking him into making inaccurate statements about his activities during the campaign. They did this because they wanted to remove him from his post in the White House and hoped he could be manipulated into making accusations against other administrative officials. Then they systematically lied about what Flynn said to them in his interview with the FBI.
Compounding this is the fact that the FBI and Departmental of Justice systematically withheld all documents that could be used by Flynn in his defense. One way they did this was to hide them in the special counsel operation. This prevented anyone, not just Flynn’s defense team, from discovering the plot. The sudden release of long withheld documents by Covington & Burling suggest they may have been part of the plot to entrap Flynn and get him to plead guilty to a crime.
At this stage, only a partisan fanatic thinks the principals in this whole Russian collusion caper were operating in good faith. You could make the argument that their behavior was unethical, but not necessarily illegal. Even if their actions violated the law, you could argue they did so in the belief they were within the bounds of the law. With these new revelations, it is clear they knew they were breaking the law in an effort to frame General Flynn as part of a much larger conspiracy.
One thing that is now confirmed with these new revelations is that the Special Counsel was always just part of a larger effort to cover-up this conspiracy. In fact, that was the whole point of it. The FBI and DOJ officials involved in the conspiracy would hide all of the evidence inside the counsel’s operation. This would make it impossible for the defense lawyers to access and very difficult for Congress to access. It would also prevent the administration from looking into it.
Another outrageous aspect to this case is that it appears that Flynn’s original defense team, Covington & Burling, may have been in on the plot to frame him. It’s not all that clear at this point, but the best that can be said of their actions on behalf of their client is they are the worst law firm in the country. They exist because they have resources and know how things work in Washington. Despite this, they made the sorts of errors TV writers would find too ridiculous for a legal drama.

China Expert Peter Zeihan Says China’s Collapse on World Stage is Coming Within Three Years — Which Backs Up Our Earlier Reports
An expert on China, Peter Zeihan, says that China’s collapse on the world stage will come within the next three years. This is what we have been saying for a couple years – China’s economy is in peril.
China expert Peter Zeihan was on Watters World on FOX on Saturday evening. He made some shocking comments regarding China:
Let me correct you on one point real quick. This is not a battle for the ages. This is not a battle with equals. This will not last a century. This will probably last about three or four years.
The only reason that China is a unified country with a significant economy is because the United States created the global order and for various reasons the United States is getting out of this. China doesn’t have the military capacity to protect their own trade routes much less the global system so this really is the end for them.”

DEMOCRAT EX-CIA AGENT SAYS COMEY MUST GET THE ‘DEATH PENALTY’ IF FOUND GUILTY OF TREASON
Obama’s FBI ‘decided that they were going to choose the nation’s political winners and losers,’ says Bryan Dean Wright
Disgraced former FBI Director James Comey should face the death penalty if found guilty for weaponizing the FBI against Donald Trump and his campaign in 2016, according to ex-CIA agent and Democrat Bryan Dean Wright.
“My preference, I’d love to see the death penalty,” Wright said on Fox & Friends Friday. “And boy oh boy, I’ll tell you, if I could flip the switch myself, I’d do it.”
“Because these men are traitors. They absolutely assaulted not just the Trump administration, but your vote, my vote, and anybody who went to the ballot box in 2016 irrespective of who we voted for.”
“They decided that they were going to choose the nation’s political winners and losers,” Wright added.

Tearful Nurse Blows Whistle on New York Hospitals ‘Murdering’ COVID Patients With ‘Complete Medical Mismanagement’
A Nevada nurse who travelled to New York to help treat COVID-19 patients has posted a tearful Facebook Live video claiming that patients are not dying from the virus, but are being “murdered” by “gross negligence and complete medical mismanagement.”
Nicole Sirotek, a nurse from Elko, Nevada, was assigned to two different hospitals in New York City.
“I am literally telling you that they are murdering these people,” Sirotek says in the terrifying video.
The video begins with Sirotek explaining that every time she attempts to advocate on behalf of one of her patients, management takes them away and reassigns her to another unit. She said that this happened at both of the hospitals she has worked at in the city. “I legitimately don’t even know what to do anymore. Even advocacy groups don’t give a sh-t about these people,” she said. “Black lives don’t matter here.”

HUGE! Former NSC Chief of Staff Fred Fleitz: House Intelligence Committee Found John Brennan “Suppressed” Russia Evidence During 2016 Election (VIDEO)
Former CIA Analyst and National Security Council Chief of Staff, Fred Fleitz, recently joined Jan Jekielek at American Thought Leaders to discuss the ongoing Obama administration spygate scandal.
During their discussion Fleitz revealed the existence of an unpublished House Intelligence report that contradicts the intelligence community assessment on Russian interference in the 2016 election.
Fred Fleitz: The House Intelligence Community discovered from the CIA that there was evidence that the Russians actually wanted Hillary Clinton to win the election and for Trump to lose. And this was strong intelligence. The reason was they thought Hillary was a known quantity. Trump was an unknown quantity and they were worried he would bring anti-Russian hawks into the administration. That information according to a House Intelligence staff, they told me this, was excluded over the objections of CIA analysts by Brennan. On the other hand, there was weak intelligence that the Russians wanted Trump to win. And according to House Intelligence Committee staffers this was included over the objection of CIA officers by Brennan. So Brennan actually slanted this analysis, choosing anti-Trump intelligence and excluding anti-Clinton intelligence. The problem is the House report, which I think is full of all these bombshells has been stuck at the CIA since the fall of 2018.
And, I’m hoping that Rick Grenell or maybe John Durham, who is doing an investigation of government misconduct surrounding the election. I’m hoping one of them is going to pry this loose because the American people have to know about it.

Sidney Powell: Comey & Co. Committed Prosecutable Crimes in Targeting Flynn, Trump
Former FBI Director James Comey and other senior officials in the Obama administration likely committed federal crimes in their use of “lawfare” against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn and President Donald Trump, said Sidney Powell, Flynn’s attorney, former federal prosecutor, and author of Conviction Machine: Standing Up to Federal Prosecutorial Abuse.
Powell discussed the latest developments related to her client’s case on SiriusXM’sBreitbart News Sunday with host Joel Pollak.
Recently unsealed FBI documents revealed that the bureau “completely made up what they said [Michael Flynn] said wrong,” said Powell. “I think that’s going to be more evident with the next productions we’re expecting this week. The government has advised that we will be getting more documents, including more text messages between FBI people. What we have right now only goes through approximately January — maybe some into mid-February — but what it shows is an extremely disturbing conversation — and multiple conversations, frankly — between the agents that were in the small group at the FBI determined to set up General Flynn and make up something to prosecute him for or get him fired — their own words even, with respect to their goal.”
Pollak noted the prosecution’s obligation to hand over potentially exculpatory evidence to the defense counsel. He asked, “Why did it take them so long to produce these documents?”
Powell replied, “Because they’ve been hiding it. The prosecution is only as good as the integrity of the prosecutors.” She explained that the above-mentioned internal FBI correspondences only came to be revealed via U.S. Attorney Jeff Jensen’s audit of the FBI’s investigation of Flynn.

Ari Fleischer: ‘The Press Is Protecting’ Joe Biden
“The press is protecting [Joe Biden],” assessed former White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer, observing broad left-wing and partisan Democrat biases across America’s news media, offering his remarks on SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Sundaywith host Joel Pollak.
Pollak asked about a “double standard of the media” while contrasting news media’s broad disinterest in accusations of sexual assault made by Tara Reade against Joe Biden with those made by Christine Blasey Ford against Justice Brett Kavanaugh. “Are the Democrats hiding Joe Biden from the press?”
Fleischer replied, “The press is not trying to get Joe Biden, so it is easy for the Democrats. The Democrats don’t have to hide him. The press isn’t challenging him. How did it take so long for a reporter — Mika Brzezinski — to ask him a question? How many interviews did he do with CNN anchors with MSNBC anchors — none of them asked a question about Tara Reade? So no, the Democrats aren’t hiding him. The press is protecting him and that is too often how it works.”

Dems deploying DARPA-funded AI-driven information warfare tool to target pro-Trump accounts
An anti-Trump Democratic-aligned political action committee advised by retired Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal is planning to deploy an information warfare tool that received initial funding from DARPA, the Pentagon’s secretive research arm -- transforming technology originally envisioned as a way to fight ISIS propaganda into a campaign platform to benefit Joe Biden.
The Washington Post first reported that the initiative, called Defeat Disinfo, will utilize "artificial intelligence and network analysis to map discussion of the president’s claims on social media," and then attempt to "intervene" by "identifying the most popular counter-narratives and boosting them through a network of more than 3.4 million influencers across the country — in some cases paying users with large followings to take sides against the president."
Social media guru Curtis Hougland is heading up Defeat Disinfo, and he received the funding from DARPA when his program was "part of an effort to combat extremism overseas." He explained in an interview with the Post that he was unhappy that top social media accounts often supported Trump, and had effectively defended the president in recent days from claims that he had suggested Americans inject themselves with disinfectant.

Mobile Phone Data Show More Americans Are Leaving Their Homes, Despite Orders
State leaders are considering reopening economies and allowing people to leave their homes, but more and more Americans appear to be doing so on their own.
Emerging data suggest that though people dramatically altered their habits to stay at home during the first month of America's response to the pandemic, that cooperation has since leveled off and — eventually — decreased. This could point to long-term challenges for state governments asking citizens to cooperate with extended stay-at-home policies.
The data, provided to NPR by a mobile phone location data company called SafeGraph, is based on the locations of about 18 million mobile phones across the country. NPR's analysis determined the percentage of cellphones that did not leave their "home" location daily in every U.S. county.

United Launches Plan To Cut At Least A Third Of Its Pilots
United Airlines UAL this weekend began the process by which it could eliminate the jobs of more than a third of its 12,250 pilots as soon as Oct. 1.
And the airline’s chief pilot warned that unless travel demand rebounds this summer much stronger than they anticipate, a lot more pilots could be pushed into the unemployment lines, along with corresponding numbers of mechanics, flight attendants, ground workers, administrative staff and managers.
United on Saturday sent its pilots an email announcing a bid for work slots effective June 30 that involves the “displacement” of 4,457 positions. That makes United the first U.S. airline to disclose its staff reduction plans in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its staggering impact on travel. United, like nearly all U.S. carriers, received large grants and low interest loans from the federal government aimed at keeping their staff employed across the summer and ready for a swift return of travel demand. United’s share of those grants and loans totaled about $5 billion, roughly half of which already has been received with balance to arrive in a few weeks.
Now, a quick rebound in travel appears highly unlikely.

15 Miles of Additional Border Wall completed in California
Contractors completed 15 miles of a new border wall system in the El Centro Sector of Southern California, Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott announced. Border Patrol agents who work in the sector told Breitbart Texas previously completed sectors reduced crime in the area and made it safer to patrol.
In a tweet on Friday, U.S. Border Patrol Chief Rodney Scott said, “Today, we completed a 15-mile section of border wall system in El Centro Sector that will provide much-needed infrastructure to help USBP agents secure the border.”
It is not clear from the announcement if this is a new border wall system, or a replacement for outdated technology. Regardless, the new bollard-style wall provides increased security, technology surveillance, lighting, and all-weather roads to improve the response time of Border Patrol agents to crossings in the area.
Last summer, Breitbart Texas reported that the completion of new border wall construction in the El Sentro Sector made the area safer for agents to patrol and reduced crime in the area.
“We’ve had people throw Molotov cocktails over the old landing mat fence and it was dangerous because we couldn’t see through it like we can with [President Donald Trump’s] new border barrier. Here in El Centro, we have the highest stretch of border wall on the entire Southwest border. Trump’s new wall section is 30-feet high,” Border Patrol Agent Mike Matzke said in his capacity as president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2554.
“New sections of Trump’s wall have been built and anyone claiming that a 30-foot barrier that replaced a 10-foot high sheet metal fence isn’t new barrier doesn’t know what they are talking about,” the veteran Border Patrol agent explained. “The old legacy landing mat fence in our sector wasn’t effective and really bad people were jumping all day and night.”

TEXAS CITY, Texas - "This is an experience of a lifetime," said Dr. Robin Armstrong. "This is something we will probably never experience again."
Dr. Armstrong and others at the Resort at Texas City Nursing home knew time wasn't on their side.
"Two of our residents had symptoms and that's when we tested everybody," said nursing home Executive Director Jan Piveral.
56 residents and 33 staff members were COVID-19 positive.
"Our Goal was to make sure we could shelter them in place so we don't spread it to other people," Armstrong said. "Then also at the same time treat them so they would get better."
Armstrong says he knew residents who ended up in the hospital had a higher mortality rate.
"Our goal was to keep them here and treat them with the medications we had available," he said.

Feminist attorney believes Biden sexually assaulted Tara Reade, but still SUPPORTS him
Feminist attorney Lisa Bloom, who once worked on behalf of Harvey Weinstein, said Friday that though she believes 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden sexually assaulted Tara Reade, she will still be supporting him.
Bloom, a sexual harassment attorney who represented accusers of President Donald Trump and former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, tweeted her support for Reade Friday but emphasized that she will still be voting for Biden.
“I believe you, Tara Reade,” the attorney said. “You have people who remember you told them about this decades ago. We know he is ‘handsy’ You’re not asking for $. You’ve obviously struggled mightily with this.”

New York Times Op-ed: Dump Biden over Tara Reade Allegations
The New York Times published an op-ed Sunday evening arguing that Democrats should dump former Vice President Joe Biden as their candidate because of the potential damage of Tara Reade’s allegations against him.
Reade has accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in a Senate hallway in 1993; Biden denies the allegations.
In the op-ed, titled “Democrats, It’s Time to Consider a Plan B,” Elizabeth Bruenig argues:
I have my own impressions regarding Ms. Reade’s allegations, but no one — save Ms. Reade and Mr. Biden — knows with certainty whether her claims are true. What I can assert with firm conviction is that Democrats ought to start considering a backup plan for 2020.
Ms. Reade’s account is not nearly as incredible as some have argued. In the course of my reporting, I have worked closely with many survivors of sexual assault. It isn’t unusual, in my experience, for survivors to exhibit behavior that seems unstable or erratic to others. They may initially disclose to investigators or journalists only a fragment of what happened, and then reveal more over time — some even falsely recant, either because they sense the police don’t believe them, or because they fear the consequences of pressing their claims. And victims often maintain relationships with their attackers or harbor mixed feelings about them.

Bush Center Slams Trump: We Want More Migration
The economics director at President George W. Bush’s advocacy center slammed President Donald Trump’s popular, pro-American immigration policy.
The May 1 slam came just before Bush posted a May 2 video urging national unity in the coronavirus crash that has pushed more than 25 million Americans out of jobs.
“The most important thing to remember in this is that we don’t want [Trump’s] temporary policy to become permanent immigration policy,” economic director Laura Collins said a video posted on the center’s Twitter account. She continued:
We know immigrants are good for the economy. We know they’re good for our culture. We know they’re in this fight with us together, and we’re going to meet them working with us side by side in any recovery after the pandemic is over.
Trump’s April 22 immigration policy says the economic needs of American employees are more important than the immigration preferences of foreigners. His policy temporarily trims the annual inflow of legal immigrants and directs agencies to review visa worker programs in 30 days.
Polls show the public — including recent immigrants — is overwhelmingly aligned with Trump in prioritizing jobs for Americans over welcomes for legal immigrants.
The visa worker programs targeted by Trump are extremely important to the Fortune 500. In response, the companies’ lobbyists and progressives allies have quickly launched a hard-nosed lobbying campaign and a soft-focus PR campaign to protect the programs and mass migration.
The Bush center has joined the #AllofUS campaign.

AP Admits Not Reporting, Deleting Tara Reade 2019 Interview Detailing Charges Against Joe Biden
The Associated Press reported on Saturday it interviewed Tara Reade Friday about her allegations that former Vice President and presumptive 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden sexually assaulted her in the 1990s when she was an aide in his Senate office but buried that the outlet failed to report on its interviews with Reade in 2019, when she first made public her dealings with Biden.
“The AP declined to publish details of the 2019 interviews at the time because reporters were unable to corroborate her allegations, and aspects of her story contradicted other reporting,” the report said.

Report: 17 Shot, Three Fatally, During 36 Hours in Gun-Controlled Chicago
At least 17 people were shot, three fatally, from Friday afternoon into Saturday night in gun-controlled Chicago.
NBC 5 reports the first fatal shooting occurred about 3 p.m. Friday, when a male was shot multiple times and killed in the 5200 block of South Homan. Both NBC 5 and the Chicago Sun-Times reported no one was in custody for the shooting.
The second fatal shooting in the 36-hour time frame took place around 11:45 p.m Friday and the third around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. The third fatality was the outgrowth of a “verbal altercation,” which resulted in a gun being drawn and a 30-year-old man being shot in the chest.
As for the non-fatal shootings, least three of the Chicago shooting victims were women. In one instance “in the 1800 block of North Sawyer, a 36-year-old woman was driving in her vehicle when a gray sedan pulled up next to her and an unknown male offender inside fired shots.”
She was wounded but able to drive herself to the hospital for treatment.

Maryland Gov. Hogan walks back Trump criticism over coronavirus testing, says WH doing 'good job stepping up'
Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan, in a Sunday interview with Fox News, walked back hisearlier criticism over insufficient coronavirus testing from the Trump administration, and praised the administration's efforts to provide states with adequate medical supplies during the pandemic,
"I can tell you, I chair the nation's governors and the administration's doing a great job of communicating with all of us, and I think they've been stepping up and doing a much better job," Hogan, a Republican, told Fox News' Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum.
"We are all starting to get much more supplies with respect to PPEs [personal protective equipment] and I think everybody is seeing quite a bit of an effort. We've got a lot of help from the federal government here in our state, from FEMA [the Federal Emergency Management Agency] just in the past few days... and we

Greg Gutfeld on Biden response to Tara Reade claims: He 'was doing great in that interview until he confessed'
"The Five" weighed in Friday on presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden's response to allegations he sexually assaulted former staffer Tara Reade while serving in the Senate.
"I thought his tone was good. Mika was strong, but I don't know if he convinced anybody either way," co-host Jesse Watters said. "Voters are just gonna have to never know the truth and just factor this into their decision in November."
"He left himself vulnerable for sure. When [MSNBC's] Mika [Brzezinski] asked if he remembered Reade, he dodged," Watters added.
Watters also compared Biden's situation to the furor over sexual misconduct allegations against then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
"His [Biden's] obvious 'Kavanaugh standard' about 'Believe all women' has evolved. It's now 'Believe all women at first, and then investigate them,'" Watters said. "Now a lot of people would think, investigate and then believe. I'm not really sure what he [Biden] believes. I just think he knows he needs to say what he needs to say to get out of that question."

PRAGER: Our Dress Rehearsal For A Police State
All my life, I have dismissed paranoids on the right (“America is headed to communism”) and the left (“It can happen here” — referring to fascism). It’s not that I’ve ever believed liberty was guaranteed. Being familiar with history and a pessimist regarding the human condition, I never believed that.
But the ease with which police state tactics have been employed and the equal ease with which most Americans have accepted them have been breathtaking.
People will argue that a temporary police state has been justified because of the allegedly unique threat to life posed by the new coronavirus. I do not believe the data will bear that out. Regardless, let us at least agree that we are closer to a police state than ever in American history.
“Police state” does not mean totalitarian state. America is not a totalitarian state; we still have many freedoms. In a totalitarian state, this article could not be legally published, and if it were illegally published, I would be imprisoned and/or executed.
But we are presently living with all four of the key hallmarks of a police state:

US Air Force bombers fly over South China Sea in latest show of strength
The U.S. military continued its week-long show of force in the South China Sea with a sortie over the contested waters on Thursday by two Air Force bombers.
The B-1B Lancers from the 28th Bomb Wing at Ellsworth Air Force Base, S.D., flew a 32-hour round trip to conduct operations over the sea as part of a joint bomber task force by the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and U.S. Strategic Command, the Air Force said in news release Thursday.
The mission further demonstrated the service’s new “dynamic force employment model,” which is intended to make its global bomber presence less predictable, the Air Force said.
China has claimed sovereignty over much of the South China Sea, an assertion disputed by other nations with competing claims, such as Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei.
During the past week, Navy warships operated near the Spratly and Paracel islands, two of the archipelagos China has claimed most vehemently.
The guided-missile cruiser USS Bunker Hill sailed near the Spratlys on Wednesday as part of its so-called freedom-of-navigation operations. They are intended to challenge assertions by China and other claimant nations that military passing near the islands must first receive authorization.

30,000 pounds of chicken sells out during massive sale in Davidsonville, Md.
Homestead Gardens teamed up with Perdue Chicken to bring high-quality chicken to local families at a discount.
DAVIDSONVILLE, Md. — A potential meat shortage is a concern for all of us during this time. The staff at Homestead Gardens teamed up with Perdue Chicken on Saturday to bring the poultry directly to the customer.
Nearly 1,000 cars lined up at Homestead Gardens in Davidsonville, Md. to pick up their boxes of poultry. The event was so popular that the nearly 30,000 pounds of Perdue chicken sold out the day before during online pre-sale orders.
In fact, so many people logged on to the website to order that is initially crashed the website.
Homestead Gardens CEO Brian Riddle said this is the first time they've hosted a food sale like this and the poultry sold out within hours.
"Unfortunately, even with this full semi load of chicken, there is way more demand then supply," Riddle said.
The team at Homestead Gardens started to hand out items around 8 a.m. and were done several hours later.
Riddle said this was a chance for them to support the poultry industry, farmers and also customers who may not be able to find the product in stores.
"Anything we can do right now to help people in general, and support agriculture is a bonus. But, I think, for this particular opportunity, it was just a practical need in trying to help people out," Riddle said.

The 1918 Flu Epidemic on the Eastern Shore by Angela Rieck
The 1918 “Spanish” influenza (ironically most scientists believe it started in the United States) is the most famous pandemic in America. While we are living through our own pandemic, it is interesting to learn how our predecessors fared in the 1918 and 1919 influenza outbreak.

Israel: COVID-19 lockdown 'unnecessary,' deadly
Citing their latest research conducted at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel, a team of business and infectious disease experts assert that it was unnecessary for Israel and numerous nations around the world to enforce lockdowns in an attempt to control the coronavirus pandemic.
To determine whether countries truly needed to hold lockdowns, Jerusalem Business School professors David Gershon and Alexander Lipon, along with Hebrew University School of Public Health’s Prof. Hagai Levine – a leading infectious diseases, epidemiologist and physician – used a real-life data model and found that proper hygiene measures, including social distancing, washing hands, face masks and testing with 14-day quarantines for those with symptoms, make lockdowns unnecessary.
Lessons learned
Gershon found a way to avoid overrun hospitals during pandemics like COVID-19.
“The parameter that we decided to focus on is the number of ICU beds that are required,” Gershon told CBN News. “We looked at how many ICU beds you need when the pandemic enters a certain country.”

A Viewer Writes: Mayor Day
Have you seen the video and photos on FB of Mayor Day’s nephew being honored in a “drive by” for his birthday? Yep…Salisbury CITY police (they live in the COUNTY) as well as some sort of military vehicle, along with friends and family. Seriously? I have NO issue with friends and family doing a nice thing for a little guy, but really? City police vehicles and a military vehicle…unbelievable.
Leading causes of death in the U.S.
While I project the annual death toll from Covid 19, keep in mind that so far this year the medical community was taken by surprise by a new disease with unknown cures and no vaccines to treat it. After 4 months, two treatments have been developed that are now reducing the death toll and rate. It’s also important to consider that Covid is mostly taking the lives of those who have one or more of the pre-existing conditions listed below, so a lot of those numbers will just be shifting from one cause to Covid.
Whatever the cause, on average 2.8 million of us will be exiting this planet every year, and despite the attack of this virus, the 2020 overall death rate from all causes including covid is on a downward trend, matching 2017 numbers when we had 5 million less population. Even with our current 63,000 Covid deaths in the first third of the year, I doubt with improving treatment techniques versus increased cases as the economy is opened back up, projecting through December could range from 125k to 180k is an approximation on my part. It could become a lot less.
Leading causes of death in the USA annually:
1) Heart disease 635k 23%
2) Cancer 598k 22%
3) Accidents 161k 6%
4) Lower respiratory 155k 5.6%
5) Stroke 142k 5%
6) Alzheimer’s 116k 4 1/4%
7) Diabetes 80k 3%
8) Influenza & Pneu 52k 2%
9) Kidney disease 50k 2%
10) Suicide 45k 1.6%
11) Septicemia 39k 1.4%
12) Chronic liver 38k 1.4%
Other 22.3%
While this chart might put Covid 19 in the top 6, we have to take into consideration that 327.2 million, or 99% of us will still be alive next year. Not only that, all the new births will make up for that 1%, so we’ll have just as many friends.
Life has risks. I say, “Live it, love it & laugh vigorously”.
Whatever the cause, on average 2.8 million of us will be exiting this planet every year, and despite the attack of this virus, the 2020 overall death rate from all causes including covid is on a downward trend, matching 2017 numbers when we had 5 million less population. Even with our current 63,000 Covid deaths in the first third of the year, I doubt with improving treatment techniques versus increased cases as the economy is opened back up, projecting through December could range from 125k to 180k is an approximation on my part. It could become a lot less.
Leading causes of death in the USA annually:
1) Heart disease 635k 23%
2) Cancer 598k 22%
3) Accidents 161k 6%
4) Lower respiratory 155k 5.6%
5) Stroke 142k 5%
6) Alzheimer’s 116k 4 1/4%
7) Diabetes 80k 3%
8) Influenza & Pneu 52k 2%
9) Kidney disease 50k 2%
10) Suicide 45k 1.6%
11) Septicemia 39k 1.4%
12) Chronic liver 38k 1.4%
Other 22.3%

Maryland Delegate files lawsuit against Governor Hogan
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Md. (WBFF) -- Maryland State Delegate and Congressional Candidate Neil Parrott has filed a lawsuit against Governor Larry Hogan after fellow Delegate Dan Cox was reportedly threatened with arrest by Maryland State Police.
Parrott says one of the reasons he filed the suit, along with other state leaders was to seek relief for Cox who says he was threatened with arrest if he attended a Reopen Maryland rally in Fredrick County.
“Threatening a legislator with arrest for exercising his first amendment right to free speech is not only unconstitutional, it is wrong," Parrot said. "We live in a Republic, and I want to make sure that no one person in Maryland or in any other state of the nation should be able to have unchecked power. ”
