They turned it into a playground for the rich, where the working class is forced to live in the outer boroughs and commute into Manhattan to service the wealthy. COVID is just exposing it even more now that the rich are suddenly bailing on New York. Now that they cant go to shows and concerts, or be waited on at high end restaurants, NYC isn't "fun" for them anymore. All of these seeds were planted by Giuliani and Bloomberg years ago.
