Charging Kyle Rittenhouse with first degree murder is facially absurd

Kyle Rittenhouse should not have been patrolling the streets of Kenosha, Wisconsin, Tuesday night. Whatever failures might have existed on the part of state and local government (and there appear to have been many), the idea of a 17-year-old with a loaded rifle being dropped into that powder keg can only happen when some horribly bad judgment has occurred.

I say this as a gun owner and Second Amendment supporter who took his son to the shooting range at that same age and taught him how to properly handle a firearm: I don't know what Kyle Rittenhouse's family or home situation is like, or how exactly he came to be where he was on that fateful night, but it's disappointing (to say the least) that no one in his life prevented him from being there. I'm sure, at this point, that Rittenhouse himself would agree.

However, two narratives about the situation are emerging, neither of which appears to be supported by even a sliver of evidence: First, that Rittenhouse is a white supremacist, and second, that he is a murderer.

  1. In Wisconsin gun owners can carry openly in public

the catch is this teen was not legally able to buy a weapon, , and when in possession of a gun,
he or she must be hunting or on the range ( thats the only technicality )

the kid was defending himself in accordance to many statements and cell phone videos

the kid has been represented, and his case is postponed till September 25.

the left will try to lock the kid up

    but he will overcome

  2. He literally brought a gun across state lines with the intent to shoot people and did it. There was no threat to his life, it wasn't in self defense. It was straight up murder.

If someone went to a Trump rally and started shooting, you'd no doubt be calling them a murderer.

    4. I would not call anyone anything unless I happen to have been a witness. So, it appears you were there??? Okay, if you were how can you call anything when there has not been a trail. Talk to us after he is convicted. If you continue with rumors it is considered hearsay.

    5. Wow, I guess all the footage out of this kid providing medical assistance as an EMT to these animals, pitting out a dumpster fire aimed at blowing up a gas station wasn't Rittenhouse? Everyone he shot was within arms reach AFTER he tried calling police because he was in danger. I really hope for your sake that police are not disbanded and you have to defend yourself like this kid had to. Wake up and stop repeating the things you hear on CNN

    6. He went with a gun to protect himself and others. The others chased him, hit him with a skateboard and a weapon was pulled on him. We was running away and did not hurt them. Until he tripped and feel and he was afraid for his life. You need to be very careful and watch entire videos before you play into the hands of the leftist media. They are using you. Always seek out the facts before you spew ignorance.

    7. It turns out that the gun belongs to a friend who lives nearby the protests.

The videos are supportive of self defense. Watch and think.

  3. If you look at the tape that MSM tried to hide. He was obviously attacked by at least 4 punks. They were coming back for more since they hit him several times with a skateboard, fists, and kicks. He was on the ground. Then he shot the POS then surprise, surprise. They Freaking ran away. But during these RIOT'S all over the country. Have you noticed even in Wisconsin. When these POS get hurt they run away yelling
" MEDIC". Tell me they aren't organized.

  4. 7:44 when people gang up on you and you are being struck and know the chances of being killed by kicks while on the ground, I would say his life was in danger and he took action. He didn't shoot for no reason and we don't no what his injuries were and what was being said at the time of the attack. The lose of life and distruction to property, the disrespect for Law and order, the injury to people this has got to stop. God help us.

  5. To anyone interested Kyle's lawyer Lin Wood along with some colleagues have started fightback.law Please everyone at least check it out and donate if possible.

At this time I am donating 2k. That is what I give every year at this time to the Salvation Army for their football team. I will never again donate to that. Football players are horrible role model. Most are not only football players but thugs with records. The run around making illegitimate babies one after the other. They do not stand for the flag and "take a knee" for something other then God.

  6. @7:30 He's not a Wisconsin citizen though. He came up from Illinois. Legal open carry doesn't apply to him, and even if it did, he wasn't acting in self defense.

  8. 2nd amendment gives all humans from birth the right to protect their lives, and I'll go even before birth. This guy was in fear for his life for good reason and had every right to blow those people away.

There are no if's and's or but's about it. He most certainly WAS acting in self defense. Go and view the videos. After watching no one in good faith can say this wasn't a clear case of self defense. A team of the best lawyers in the US has been assembled and more are expected on board but a first year public defender with no expertise in self defense could get an acquittal.

  12. Antioch, IL and Kenosha, WI are about 15 miles apart.

I read the young man previously lived in Kenosha. He may have traveled to help friends or relatives protect their business. It appears he was with others keeping watch at a car dealer. He was clearly being chased and under assault by the guy with the pistol in hand who was wearing the paramedic hat. We'll find out more as actual facts begin to replace off-the-cuff wild language. Sad deal all around.

  13. 730apm...stop spreading lies, was perfectly legal in WI and IL for 17yo to own and posses a long gun.
744pm....thats a lie, stop repeating it. The rifle in Kyle's possession never left the state of WI, it belonged to an acquaintance.
840pm....your a liar and at this point its clear its on purpose.
843pm...again your purposefully ignore the facts and spread lies.
1120pm....the hundreds of videos out there have shown everyone the evidence and its undisputable its all self defense. Do you ignore the truth so you can lie...or lie so you can ignore the truth?

Its clear that the violent thugs, blm, antifa and the communist are upset that people are now going to start defending their towns from the looting pillaging and burning now that the democrats have ordered the police to stand down. Its beyond clear the leaders of that riot tried to murder that 17yo and he defended himself and his town with superiority. Every thug he shot had a serious criminal record, the first one was fresh out of prison for 12.5years because he raped a little girl. the second one had multiple different charges of domestic violence, the third with his arm blown up was a repeat bugler and thief...long records all 3. Those of you supporting these violent criminals deserve the same fate.

    FREE KYLE!!!!!

Northwest Woodsman: As a trained professional, I would never have subjected myself to the expected violence that is part of these “peaceful” demonstrations (read- riots”), but if it came to me and I was faced with the same outrageous violence that was directed toward him, I’d also have used deadly force also. Actually he did a decent job of selecting his targets and successfully engaging them while under extreme duress. I congratulate him for his outstanding performance and for doing the job that the authorities failed to do.

  19. Everyone has a god given right to defend themselves, but the laws clearly state you cannot open carry in a manner to intimidate or provoke fear on public property. Forgetting all of the misdemeanors he committed, the second he walked walked off private property in any form of ready state, he was in violation of the WI Open Carry Law.

You cannot walk down a public road with pistols drawn or a long arm at ready. If you provoke people people to be theatened, and act in self defense themselves as a result, even inappropriately, you cannot claim self defense.

Being a 2A supporter, I am concerned about those who try to suggest this immature kid should be congratulated, even though at least a couple of these guys were known scumbags.

    Just my opinion.

There is a 2 hour video posted on fb by Kristan T Harris, from, therundownlive, who was there and at the car dealership and the kid is in much of the video, and at one point he has no gun and goes to another person to retrieve it. The militia were at several posts and walking between businesses, as you can see one particular guy at both the car dealership and the gas station. They were also someone on 63rd, as it was reference in conversation.

The kid, like others, left the car dealership and went to another location which answers the - why did he leave the dealership question.

This is just another case of media slander and lies, and once they find out he truly is innocent, they will drop the story just like they did to the Sandmann kid.

I’m not talking about the liberal troll on here that is probably close to 80 years old and has nothing to do but national news.

  27. I don't know about being charged or not, self-defense or whatever. But why did a 17 year old kid feel the need to put himself in that situation? I get that the protests and looting can be frustrating, but why decide to be the one to stand there and arm yourself if the very people who own the respective shops/stores didn't feel the need?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Guilty or not, he should not have been there. He put himself in this situation and now has to deal with the outcome.
