On Monday House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and other Democrat members of Congress knelt down for 8 minutes and 46 seconds to honor George Floyd.
The Democrats donned African Kente cloth scarves as they gathered in Emancipation Hall on Capitol Hill.
It should come as no surprise that the Kente Cloth was worn by Ashanti tribal leaders who practiced slavery.
Via The Ultimate History Project:
Kente cloth is deeply intertwined with the history of the Ashanti nation. The Ashanti Empire or Confederacy, which was located in what is today Ghana, first emerged in West Africa during the seventeenth century. The Ashanti are members of the Akan people who speak the Akan or Ashanti dialect. The word “Kente” which means basket comes from the Akan or Ashanti dialect. Akans also refer to Kente as nwentoma, which means woven cloth…
…While Kente cloth was a product of a global trade route which stretched from Asia through Europe to Africa, this cloth and the people also came to be associated with another global trade route—the slave trade. In fact, the history of the Ashanti people, who lived on the West Coast of Africa, is strongly tied to the history of the slave trade.
As was true of many pre-modern societies in Africa, Asia and Europe, the Ashanti practiced slavery. When Europeans, specifically the Portuguese, came into contact with the Ashanti during the sixteenth century, both Europeans and the Ashanti traded gold, ivory, and slaves.

ReplyDeleteI would be more proud to wear the Confederate Battle Flag!
I thought they were Trick or Treating
ReplyDeleteAppropriate for them because all the dictocrats have a dark streak in them!
ReplyDeleteThey should all wear enormous dreadlock wigs to honor Rastafarians, who just want to be left the f¤¤k alone.
ReplyDeleteWell if you look at it it's appropriate for the ones involved. They're slave traders because once a voter votes Democrat he's under their control till death. Promises made not kept.Policy lacking substance always stopping short and no continuity. Your vote makes you independent and not some nickel dime politician. Try voting for men who have a past positive record and see if you don't vote to keep them in power how all of a sudden things turn around and the World will be a better place.
ReplyDeleteHere is the double standard. They are doing this to serve their cause, but how many times have we heard if a white person wears dreadlocks, it is culturally inappropriate, or if a white person wears attire that is of African descent it is cultural inappropriate. Just sayin everyone in the picture is racist per the African Americans own voices.
ReplyDelete7:18 So true. The democrat politicians have no problem making fools out of themselves just to they can keep blacks chained up on the democrat plantation. When you are a dependent you are not free. You are a slave.
ReplyDeleteWhen your choices are only rentals that are subsidized you are not free. You are a slave.
When your car keeps on breaking down and you can't just go and buy another you are not free. You are a slave.
When your children are forced to go to a poor performing and sometimes dangerous school you are not free nor are your children. You and they are slaves.
The list is endless but bottom line if you have to depend on the government to survive you are a slave.
Sadly they will just keep voting for them.
ReplyDeleteHave Nancy and the gang stare at the stars and behold something greater than themselves!¿
ReplyDeleteRepublicans are still dumb.
