Frontline healthcare workers who traveled to New York to assist the state with the coronavirus outbreak will be required to pay state taxes, Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) confirmed this week.
When asked if he considered waiving the state tax for emergency workers who volunteered to travel and work in New York, an epicenter of the virus in the United States, Cuomo quickly dismissed the idea.
“We’re not in a position to provide any subsidies right now because we have a $13 billion deficit,” Cuomo told reporters.
“So there’s a lot of good things I’d like to do, and if we get federal funding, we can do, but it would be irresponsible for me to sit here looking at a $13 billion deficit and say I’m gonna spend more money, when I can’t even pay the essential services,” he continued.

Just when a politician has a change to be a decent public employee, the dip s-it all of a sudden can’t (won’t) subsidize something. That must be a first for him.
ReplyDeletewow how much are we talking here millions billions what an asshat
ReplyDeleteAnd he is even going to tax Samaritan's Purse, who he didn't really use, because he sent all the sick Covid19 patients to nursing homes where the residents couldn't get away. But let rapists(convicted rapists) out of jail so they wouldn't get the COVID.
ReplyDeleteLesson learned...don't rush to help NYC...it'll cost ya! I can't help but smirk at the "if we get federal funding" we'll see what we can do - setting up the federal government to take the fall for those people having to pay their measly pittance to the NYC machine. I'm gonna be sick!
ReplyDeleteExit, stage right!
ReplyDeleteHe is waiting for the next stimulus package Nancy wants approved that includes funds for cities that were poorly managed. You heard him - they have a $13 billion deficit. And people say he would make a good President because he is a people person. He said it all - not me.
ReplyDeleteNot another federal dime for NY..LET them EAT CAKE. They elected these buffons deserve every dime of taxes they get. See how many vollenteers they get next physc op.
ReplyDeleteTelling you cant fix democrats stupity. Liberty tree gonna need watering soon.
Ok, Cuomos an A hole, we know that. The health care workers that volunteered shouldn't get penalized for the WONDERFUL work they've done. What they have done is VERY morally uplifting, and VERY compassionate, buuut Quit calling them HEROS!!! We've thrown that word around SOooo dang much, it's become convoluted! Did any of them Offer their lungs to save a victim? Did any of them give their life in exchange for saving a baby's life? Did they run into a burning home KNOWING they were gonna die to save a life?....NO! Yes, they're awsome people, doing good work, but come on America...by labeling people that are just doing their job HEROES, than by that Same standard, why isnt the Septic cleaner a HERO?...the guy making FRYS at Burger King? Your mechanic? They're doing their jobs!
ReplyDeleteAt 2:54PM It is for one, you cannot see beyond your nose. And these health care workers are doing the things that you would not do. They are setting themselves into harm's way. You would never do that. They are heroes like our military is because our military is fighting for our freedom and safety and putting themselves into harm's way. Again just to let you know you cannot see beyond your nose. Stay in your mom's basement. Oh, and down there, you do not have to wear your face mask. I hope that makes you feel better.
DeleteNO MORE HELP for NY!!!!!! Next time, suffer, under the a$$holes that run that joint.
