Check Out These Facts About The Lies The Local MSM Stated About Ocean City Maryland
I’m a professional photographer and a teacher. One of the things I talk about, when teaching photography, is the impact that focal length can have on the perspective of a photograph.
With a super wide angle, you can force perspective to make things that are closer to the camera look super large compared to the things that are further away.
With a long telephoto, you can compress the view and make things that aren’t close together look like they’re close together. The longer the lens, the more compression takes place.
This photo, taken by a Reuters photographer, is being used in articles to discuss how “crowded” it was yesterday on the OC boardwalk. And all over Twitter, people are talking about how stupid the people are, for crowding so close together like that.
Here’s the thing... it was taken with a VERY long telephoto lens. Do you see Fishers on the right side? And Ripley’s on the left? They almost look like they’re next to each other, but they’re THREE BLOCKS APART.
To be clear: I am not saying this photo was manipulated (or Photoshopped) in any way. This is exactly what the photographer saw... through a very, very, VERY long lens.
I also looked at the time lapse of yesterday’s boardwalk camera...there was never a point when it was close to being as crowded as it looks in this picture (included, from about 2:45 p.m. until sunset).
The bottom line: Take everything you see and read with a grain of salt and always do your research.

ReplyDeleteSans Media - we are no longer STUPID!!!
Guess it is in the eye of the beholder. If you look at the second from the top Dollies “popcorn” is across from Ripley’s. Looks about right. Just saying, I don’t give a chit because I have been around for decades and don’t go there and didn’t when I was young.
ReplyDeleteBut we are always told pictures don't lie. There are no truths in this world.
ReplyDeleteThe Patricia lady lied/was confused about the date. The photographer didn't manipulate anything. The still picture was from the 16th when all of the locals flocked to the beach.

Top picture was what the boardwalk looked like on Saturday, taken from the same boardwalk camera I was watching. No way did it look like the second picture
ReplyDeleteLOL this isn't even a real picture. Fisher's is on the corner of Talbot and blocks away from Dolle's. That looks like Belmont Towers which is north of the pier building. Photo Shopping going on here. What a dumb woman this patricia nengerle is
ReplyDeleteit's called Photo Shopped. Here's the real view looking south from Fisher's Popcorn. Those shops south of Fisher's aren't even there

Anyone with social media need to go and give this lying skank Patricia Zengerle a good public slap down and a does of public humiliation like the lying trash has never seen in her useless life.
They knew exactly what they were doing and Patricia played right along with it. Yes this is why everything ever coming out of the MSM is to ever be believed. The MSM is nothing but a big smelly trash can full of garbage like the rank Patricia Zengerle who lie constantly and about everything.
ReplyDelete8:37 The picture is manipulated. Fishers' is on a corner and blocks away from Dolle's.
ReplyDeleteBLAME THE GOVERNMENT !!! They let it Happen !!! Blame Hogan !!
ReplyDeleteDoes it really matter anymore?
ReplyDeleteWell we will know in 2 weeks if it really mattered.
Yea. And only "OTHER" countries have crooked government controlled media and push forward their own propaganda.
ReplyDeleteSure.....
Sorry, 9:13. Not the same Fishers. Look at the font on the sign if you do not believe me.
ReplyDeleteI agree some pictures were altered to look like a lot of people were on the boardwalk, however, SATURDAY, MAY 23 ABOUT 2PM IN THE AFTERNOON - the boardwalk was packed - the sun was out and everyone choose to use that time to hit the boards - those pictures were not manipulated. With bad weather on both Sunday and Monday - the crowds dispersed and were gone - lets be honest about what time those pictures were taken. Saturday was indeed a crowded boardwalk with few people wearing masks and even fewer social distancing and unfortunately that time is when the news media seized upon.
ReplyDeleteIt's Caroline St to South Division all squished into one picture. So it's 7 blocks.

You are WRONG. It's the same Fisher's because there is only one on the Boardwalk in Ocean City. It's on the S corner of Talbot ST. Did you ever stop to think maybe the sign was replaced? Or many it's not even the same sign? Maybe it's one on the side of the building or at the head of the street? but it is absolutely the same Fishers and this is to not be debated because to claim it isn't is wrong.
Caroline to S. Division is "six blocks", but this is more like Talbot to Wicomico Streets which is "3 1/2 blocks" but the blocks are all tiny, so ~600ft of boardwalk.
ReplyDeleteThe photo isn't manipulated. The photo was as seen on May 16th. This lady is trying to compare May 16th when all the locals flocked down to the beach the day after Hogan eased restrictions. To May the 23rd when the tourist came down and locals didn't really want any parts of it.
bwahahaha, the pics and still of the vid clearly show that the boardwalk was packed with people that were well within the 6ft zone of aerosol transmission and who were not wearing masks to reduce the rate of aerosol transmission. So if you want to die on that hill, or boardwalk, in terms of whining about somehow misleading pics, go right ahead.
ReplyDeleteThere were A lot of people around OC and on the water, but no where near the amount on a normal Memorial Day weekend. Bars, restaurant, and things like that killed the normal. I can’t believe events that happen months from now are being cancelled. Why!soon as the hot weathers breaks, the bridge will be backed up.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the boardwalk through the webcams and did not see many people at all.
ReplyDelete1132 - planning for the unknown is difficult.
ReplyDeleteOpen, get the service industry back into swing and close down again? Ouch.

As a business, damned if you do damned if you don't - especially with employees involved.
Monday morning quarterbacking without any worry in the game (i.e., vacationer) - Easy to say open. Zero risk.

ReplyDeleteYeah right 301, wishful thinking on your part, but not mine. You will see !!! FACT
