  1. Hard to believe they were lowest bid for that project.

  2. Damn, you folks elected this boy, and he's literally like a bull in a China shop when it comes to Salisbury. Looks like a good place to have a mud hop.

  3. Look at how gross the buildings look....ewww I can taste the smog from here.

  4. They don't need to go down the middle. They need to go down each side with a bulldozer, and level the craphole.

  5. Nice picture of Da'Bury there!

  6. It makes me want to cry.

  7. Looks like a artist rendering of a butt-scape... da'bury is and always will be a armpit...

  10. is that salisbury or damascus

  11. If they are putting it back to original, get rid of those planters and light posts also so there can be two lanes thru there.

  12. Making more room for metered parking ? What a shame or should I say SHAM. For 30 years now they have trying to make something happen downtown. Obviously only a select few care. Try putting a Cracker Barrel there with lots of handicap parking.

  13. The streets in Baltimore look cleaner than this. That sidewalk is really nasty looking and it's not due to the tree work.

  14. That country star on the left has got to go! I don't know why but they infuriate me when I see them on homes. I guess just because of the sheep heard mentality people have and no originality. The first one or two was fine, but know you see them everywhere.

But yes, look how run down the buildings are.

Downtown is NEVER going to happen. Other than for a few drunk losers that live down there in run down lofts, NO ONE wants to visit downtown Salisbury. Especially now that all of the parking is going away except for the parking garage.

  15. And the reason for removing the trees was........?

  16. Looks like Dresden Germany after we bombed the snot out of it in WWII.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Why? The trees were the most beautiful thing there! Now it is just a cement slab.

  18. I don’t care for Jake but for as long as I can remember they’ve been trying to revitalize downtown, they built the marina and then brew river but nothing was done for years . Not sure if opening up the plaza to traffic is a good thing or not .... if you want to tear things down start with the houses from fitzwater to rt 50 and move Purdue

    1. Perdue should never move, they've been there forever. That would be like "come here's" trying to shut down the eastern shore's generations of farmers.

      Delete
    2. Perdue moving would eliminate a huge revenue stream for the city. Water and sewer alone is a fortune.

    3. Still blaming the come here's uh?? What a shame. Look at all the CORRUPT politicians, LEO's, lawyers, judges, and developer's. The same ones you shorebillies vote for every Election. You know?? Your so called buddies. But you keep blaming the come here's. Because there isn't any come here's. Just inept, backstabbing, good for nothing shorebillies.

  19. That is absolutely disgusting. It looks just like the crappy areas in Baltimore. You people voted for him!

  20. Happy to see the trees and sculpture being removed. Plaza should have never been partially closed. Street should be fully opened like other local towns, such as Berlin, Easton, Snow Hill, etc. There are plenty of trees in the city park and in the woods.

  21. What if they built a downtown and nobody came?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Im not a tree hugger but they should have left them
The Critical Area laws apply to SBY as they do to anyone of us
Those trees are within 1000 feet of tidal water (the Wicomico River)
Before they can be cut a plan had to be approved and in place to replant two or three to one for ever tree cut down
I want to see the filed plan
It is a $10,000 dollar fine per day not kidding look it up
for not having the plan and until the other trees are planted.
    Falls on the City
    MDE where are you

    1. It will be just like the blue reflectors in the street. Threats will be made but no action.

  23. Just like a bunch of hypocritical Democrats do as I say not as I do. So much for a clean environment and cleaner air.

  24. Looks more like the Baltimore ghettos. So much for revitalization of Downtown Salisbury. Not let the gangs start painting their colors, hand signs and putting up their little drug shanties.

  25. why you think kuhns building is up for sale?

  26. Let's see...nobody in Salisbury liked it when they closed that section of main street and tried to turn it into a mall. Then nobody liked it when they partially allowed traffic back on the street previously closed to traffic. And now nobody likes it now that they are turning main street back into a street. Just can't please that Salisbury crowd.

  27. They don’t have money to fix the horrible city roads but they have money for this! Go figure. We left Salisbury many years ago but do return for visits. We get so aggravated trying to dodge holes in city roads that we swear we won’t come back! But there was money for a roundabout! Let’s see how that works out!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Complete waste of money! Meanwhile, we drive on streets in the city limits that destroy our vehicles and jar a our teeth loose!

  30. Once it's dug up for 3 or 4 years and revitalized with a couple of roundabouts and bike lanes it'll be thronged 24/7 by FolkedFest attendees who pub crawl from one end to the other, and back. Another chapter in the Day time drama.

  31. I'm ashamed to admit that I live in Wicomico county. People from elsewhere ask "Is that where Salisbury is"? I just lower my head and look embarrassed and try to change the subject.

  32. I hope all you Jake voters are happy with another disaster by this boy mayor, he has tore down and demolished downtown Salisbury's history, the bike lanes, orange bicycles, fence around Riverwalk, no chain link fences, all bars everywhere, 3rd Fridays, round abouts, painted sideswalks, City Festivals costing many thousands, 13 story high rises on Main Street, a teacher wife awaiting trial for drug trafficking at a high school, a corrupt SPD storage room, Rt 13 road construction 3+ years & MOST STUPID OF ALL REELECTING THE FOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. 8:23 Country stars on buildings and houses sets your pants on fire but tearing down our whole city one block at a time is ok loosing all the historical buildings, City Festivals that even the Homeland Security told them should them not to put in the location they use was too dangerous, and bodies floating in the Wicomico twice during the two festivals is ok. Most Vendors stating they did not do any business, the drunks walking across to the parking lots on Eastern Shore Drive was a good idea? You need a lobotomy your head isn't screwed on and you definitely are wrapped too tight. GET A GRIP YOUR JAKE MATERIAL FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. I thought West Main Street and Fitzwater street had been repaired? I was through there this week and there is a patch here and there with some asphalt thrown into a hole but it needs way more than a patch job. It need repaving , from one end to the other!! That street is a disgrace to the city. I bet if the "pretty people" lived on that end, it would be fixed. It's pretty obvious why it never gets fixed. The entire city looks like $hi*.

    ReplyDelete
  35. The plaza looks absolutely horrible. The trees were one thing that made it look nice.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Who really cares about this old crumbling brick Main street at best its a hazard we don't have the peeps to make it a happening place or venue.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Do you remember when they did the same thing to Eastern Shore Drive a couple of years ago? They ripped out perfectly good trees and replanted them with more trees. WTH!! Typical Democrats.

Just wait until Bobble-Head Jakey Boi puts in his roundabouts at College Ave and Eastern Shore Drive and another one at the other end Carrol Street and Eastern Shore Drive. Eastern Shore Drive will then be narrowed to one lane in each direction with large medium islands down the middle with bike paths and rest areas so walkers and bikers can enjoy the scenic ghetto views of the President Skreets. That's right folks, just stand by and watch it happen just like you always do! Manure Bota and Jack Heathbar has already approved it.
