Another travesty is the way you Americans use Garlic. In Italy we use it too but in no way like you do. In cooking you want all the spices to complement each other and excite the taste buds, but you people use so much Garlic it overwhelms the dish and all you taste is Garlic! 99% of you don't know how to cook!
