8:38am, Oh I'm sure they do, what with all the social distancing we are supposed to be doing. That's why they made computers so you can have your meetings on there just like teachers are doing right now. Quit making excuses for very poor choices.
But you seem to think that it is Ok for John Tull, the useless Far Cheef, to hire his own son as a paid fireman because don't post my comments.
John Tull clearly knows this is nepotism and his son is an adult who knows better. Why do you keep censoring those comments because I have been posting many and watching!
why aren't they required to live in the city limits? surly it's not because of a lack of affordable housing. plenty of places available in the ghettos!
Is this the Assistant Chief 2 buggy? What happened to those new Ford Explorers that the Fire Department bought several years ago?? Are they too good to drive a late model vehicle with a few years on it?? Oh that's right, Jake Day favors the Fire Department and allows them to get whatever they ask for. And it's going to continue until you idiots grow some balls and speak out.
John Tull should be ashamed of himself for wasting tax dollars like that.
There should not be any take home vehicles. If you don't live in Salisbury or Wicomico County you should not have a take home vehicle on tax payer dollars. You will never respond to an emergency that far away. As for as meeting I bet your phone you have on the tax payers dime has video on it along with your tax payer computer. These a$$holes take advantage of their positions and have very little experience in running a Dept saving tax dollars. They are CON-Artist better known as THEFTS.
Look at the budget ALL your city of Salisbury departments have. This blatant abuse and manipulation of the city tax dollars is out of control. To ALL you "clock riding"(including salaried) this garbage will come toe an end soon. There's no way you can sustain the current expenses Jake Day and all you sideline supporters have strapped salisbury with. There's just not enough free money left over from the federal and state government. It's time to redirect priorities to a new social culture taking place. There's NO NEED for ALL the duplicate/unnecessary positions Jake Day and his department heads have created.
How come the Salisbury fire department has about 12-15 of these vehicles. The Chief and Assistant May need one, but no one else! That’s a lot of insurance, tags and up keep! When I say these vehicles, I mean cars and SUV’s, not firefighting equipment! We could buy another fire truck with the cost of all those cars combined!
10:23 a.m.--Yep, in April 2019, Ladies Auxiliary selected Chief Tull's son to be recipient of its scholarship award. Surely there were other deserving students needing it more than the son of the Fire Chief. Very bad optics; very bad decision as to the awarding and the accepting of the award.
Manure Bota should be ashamed of himself for allowing the clowns at the Salisbury Fire Department to waste our tax dollars like that. He is a worthless P.O.S. who claims to be a Conservative. The State GOP should kick his ass off the County Central Committee.

That is a good question and you can thank Jake Day and the Salisbury City Council for allowing this. There is no need for all of these officers to be riding around in their own personal city vehicles.
Why are there 3 deputy chiefs with cars? Two of them are paid and one is a volunteer with absolutely no power or authority but he has a take home car and gas. One of those 2 paid deputy chiefs positions was created under Jake Day's watch as Mayor as well as Jack Heath's and Muir Boda as President and Vice President, respectfully.
Tell us why the on-duty assistant chief needs a car while on duty? Put them on a damn fire engine just like that you have and additional staff member on a fire engine.
Why do you need a rather newly created "Fire Marshal" position in Salisbury and cars for them? The Office of the State Fire Marshal already has fire marshals we the taxpayer is paying for. The Wicomico County Fire Marshal's office already has fire marshals and inspectors that we are paying for. There are at least 2 Salisbury "fire marshals." What a waste of precious funding!
Why does the Salisbury Fire Department need a paid EMS Captain sitting in the office all day long while on duty and he gets a car as well?
Why does the Salisbury Fire Department need it's own highly paid training officers at a Captain's salary and he sits in the office all day long? Why is a training officer needed when we have all the training and personnel we need at the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, MFRI. There is a Satelite branch at UMES. All Salisbury has to do is tell MFRI what classes they want and when and where to hold it and MFRI will send staffing free of charge to the Salisbury Fire Department. MFRI will bring the Salisbury Fire Department a one-time 3-hour skills session or an entire 300-hour class. They will also bring the Salisbury Fire Department any EMS class or program they request. Anything for a 3-hour continuing education class to a 24-hour recertification class for EMT's to an entire Paramedic Refresher Class. That's right, Folks, free of charge to the City of Salisbury. That's because we already pay for that training through our taxes and tag fees every year.
You want more training? You can get all the continuing education classes for EMS at PRMC and MIEMSS all day long. That's because we already pay for that training through our taxes and tag fees every year as well.
Why is there a paramedic riding around all day long in a Suburban with EMS 2 on it? That paramedic is paid to go around and check on elderly patients all day long when it should be a nurse from PRMC or the Health Department doing it, not a paramedic that is needed on the ambulance.
Why is there a supply officer paid at a Lieutenants rank and sits in an office all day? How many supplies does the fire department need that they have to dedicate a full time ranking fire officer to this position when there are clearly enough office staff that can do the ordering. They aren't that busy!
These are just a few of the wasted positions in the Salisbury Fire Department and they all have their own fire vehicles/SUV's.
