Govs. Larry Hogan of Maryland and Andrew Cuomo of New York issued a bipartisan call Saturday for an additional $500 billion in federal aid for U.S. states and territories dealing with the coronavirus.
Hogan, a Republican, is chairman of the National Governors Association and Cuomo, a Democrat, is the vice chair.
The two said in a statement Saturday morning that implementing stay-at-home orders and other public health measures have 'resulted in catastrophic damage to state economies.'

As long as the MD and NY governments don't get a penny! They waste too much as it is!
ReplyDeleteGive it directly to the people - no special handouts!
Wait what?
ReplyDeleteWho issued the stay at home orders?
I'll give you a hint, it wasn't Trump.
I had read that Nancy said the $150B allocated in the $2.2T release was just the 1st amount for states. AND it has specific instructions on what it could be spent on. WHOA????
ReplyDeleteStipulations are needed for things, but really?? Typical CONgress.
The $500B now requested just keeps things moving.
Just the beginning since eventually all this money goes on top of the already $21T debt.
Damn.
nobody caused the damage to this state but hoagie and his cohort democrats with passing the massive tax hikes and shutting down small business with his king like attitude and skipping around to leftist news outlets. Look at me, Look at me. I'm somebody important. What a joke.
ReplyDeleteOur governor cannot even get the states grants out for md small businesses and at least the federal government is getting the sba money out starting this week.
ReplyDeleteSBA loans are for keeping folks on the payroll and then the loan is forgiven (no pay back).
ReplyDeleteYet if you keep folks on payroll but have no business AND bills are still paid and you cannot afford to pay bills AND payroll - then why?
Folk obtain unemployment since you cannot really pay them since there isn't any business coming in.....AND since you have no money coming in and no people working, you can't get the loan free SBA.
CONgress.
Tired of getting allerts yet
ReplyDeleteOnly if they change the states laws on hiding and harboring Illegals!
ReplyDeleteHogan's slogan; send the money to me, for I have many illegals to take of, don't you see?
ReplyDeleteYou must stay focused on my criticism of Trump and not on me; that I do very well with glee!
These are the same 2 governors who coitized the Federal government and did nothing until after the fact and takes no responsibility of their inaction? Is this why Hogan allows these out of staters to come to MD and infect MD citizens? Is this why Hogan allows MD beaches to become inhibited by non-residence? Hogan proves again he is a "DEMOCRAT" and does not care about MD citizens.
ReplyDeleteIf you think this is about Left vs. Right, then you’re as clueless as the guy who thinks it is about eating bats.
DeleteNew York drove out the wealthy with ridiculous taxes so illegals were cared for; Hogan has Baltimore to deal with.
ReplyDeleteLet's see. Is this the same Maryland Governor who passed legislation to front load the States Attorney General, Frost, with a million dollar budget just to use in court cases against President Trump? I believe so far Maryland has joined in 23 court cases against the President. So now Hogan wants a couple billion dollars to help him out. Well Mr. Governor, what you did will now come back to bite you.
ReplyDeleteYeah we have to fund Kirwan. What happened to the states rainy day fund? Oh that's right lottery tickets are not selling.
ReplyDeleteMaryland's virus rate is soaring and the fact that nobody in the state enforced any stay home regulations has much to do with it. Look at what people are driving around and i guarantee maybe 20% are essential.
ReplyDeleteReference 4:22 Post - Good Point!!!
ReplyDeleteRight - does Hogan really believe he's simply going to fork over Federal monies to MD after all MD has done to this man??? First - they stole. . .I repeat stole at least 7 of MD's 10 electoral delegates and awarded all of them to Hillary. Then, they sued Trump so many times (even front loaded the legal fees) over such things like sanctuary city, emmulant, impeac hment, and then they expect our President to just shrug it off and to forget it!!
ReplyDeleteState issues.... Feds shouldn’t give them a penny.
ReplyDeleteLOL...Hogan is not a Republican. You can give him whatever label that makes you feel good but in the end, he is what he is- a liberal! ...smh
