WASHINGTON, DC: Rep. Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced the award of $18,368,304 in federal grants from the Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airport Improvement Program. Funding was provided by the recently enacted CARES Act, also known as the “Phase III” Congressional emergency legislation. The CARES Act provided $10 billion in funding for the FAA to allow critical safety and capacity projects to continue as planned regardless of airport sponsors’ current financial circumstances while preparing for, and responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically, six airports in the First Congressional District will receive funding:
Cambridge-Dorchester Regional Airport: $30,000
Crisfield-Somerset County Airport: $1,000
Easton Airport – Newnam Field: $157,000
Ocean City Municipal Airport: $30,000
Salisbury Regional Airport: $18,120,304
Bay Bridge Airport (Stevensville): $30,000
Congressman Harris made the following statement on the FAA awards:
“I support our local regional airports and the rural communities they serve on the Eastern Shore. These small businesses support badly needed jobs in our local communities, and during this pandemic and economic disruption, I thank the FAA for quickly distributing funding to airports in the First District. I will continue to work to support jobs on the Eastern Shore.”
Thanks Andy, Any chance you could get our Governor to let us get the heck back to work? Hogan is killing us down here, he needs to stop listening to the commies over there. I mean Larry, I get, you want Cardin's seat, but come on man, you are going to be remembered for how you ruined us economically, not for how you "saved us" from a chinese manipulated disease, and I call it a chinese disease because it was made in

ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: Nice that these politicians have an unlimited stash of money to be able to throw millions of dollars around on causes that they think will win votes for them. Besides that money basically stolen from me all year, I had to pay an additional $4900.00 in taxes which I’m sure these corrupt politicians really appreciate.
ReplyDeleteNorthwest Woodsman: I suspect, 10:09, that the airport manager will be able to buy new curtains for his office and maybe new furniture.
ReplyDeleteShe already done that.
DeleteGreat to add to the deficit and debt .
ReplyDeleteYou go fiscal conservative Republicans

Second she is on extended leave out of state without pay.
The airport will be like the Civic Center.Just a pit of high salaries making bad decisions which the taxpayer has to support.Close them both and send the Wicomico taxpayers a stimulate check.

The civic center loses money and so does the airport.
Hey Andy, why not promote giving that money back to the taxpayers in the form of a larger stimulus check. Too bad we all don't have your money so it isn't a concern to you.
