  1. Not for the children this time.

  2. Why do we feed these children? Do they not have parents or someone responsible for them? I don't want any child to go hungry but I'm at a loss as to why?

    1. Read the bible. Christ said let the children come to me. He also said love your neighbor as yours. He said whenever you serve the "least of these" you are doing it for him.

There's your why. Does that answer your question?

    2. I think we all know why

    3. It also says give a man a fish, he eats for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he eats for a lifetime.

If ye wish to be fishers of men, be not selective in you quotes to suit thine agenda.

    6. Jesus fed the multitudes. He did not ask any questions or impose any judgement. He just fed them because they were hungry. Plain and simple.

Judge not lest ye be judged.

    7. At 4:07 p.m. charity comes from the private sector not from the government. The government cannot be charitable taking stuff from one person and giving it to another. So the quote you made from the Bible does not apply.

    8. Jesus didn't say that quote you guys. Don't make people who actually read the Bible look bad. It's just an old saying.

So WHO can pickup this food? Adults pickup for children or do the children have to be present? Only parent can pickup, or any any delegate pickup? How is it being insured that just students are getting the meals, not just random homeless people?

  4. By the number of items in their shopping carts , they should be able to feed their own children.

    1. Unfortunately, Some children do not have it as nice as others. As a former foster care mom, I have seen a lot, just feed these children. We do NOT know their story.

  5. So the kids who already have food stamps can get free food. Only in America.

  6. Let me get this straight they're closing the schools to keep the kids from congregating together in one place. And now they're serving food at these schools to get the kids back into it. I am at a loss.

  7. So what's the money we give the parents on welfare going for?

    ReplyDelete
  8. Your tax dollars at work, going to raise taxes on you property owners.

  9. DO parents need to be home when the free food shows up? I'd prefer that the Government send me a txt message in case I'm busy.

  10. Because their parents are Democrats who expect the state to take care of their children.

  12. We feed them because they are children. They have no control over their situation and the people who are responsible don’t or won’t or can’t.. This problem exists everywhere and always. In some countries they just ignore the problem or “eliminate” them.

  13. This is ridiculous. Most of these kids who we feed in the schools, their parents are on government assistance. Probably getting every food and housing benefits they can swindle the working taxpayers out of while they sit home on their ass watching The View and Jerry Springer. These parents will have to hide in the bathroom now to smoke their crack and smoke their weed.

  14. The closing of Wicomico County Schools is through 3/30/20 it was issued by Dr. Donna Hanlin Superintendant of Wicomico County Board of Education not the 2 wks originally thought. Call 410-677-4400 with any questions, I received my notification today by e-mail.

  15. No they will feed ANY student, they are just having the pick up locations at some schools. The parents can drive to those locations to get the food - they would have to drive unless they are in walking distance from their school anyway. People always find something to complain about.

God also said you are responsible for yourself and your family.

Not all charity is a good thing.

Teach a man to fish ......

Another picker and chooser of God's word to suit your agenda. These are not TRULY in need. Food stamps, welfare, Hud.

They should be feeding the elderly.

  18. While I do applaud the local school system for feeding students, they really should’ve considered having stations in Pittsville/Willards and Mardela/Hebron. These children need to eat too and their parents are tax payers.

  20. Taxpayers usually pay for these meals twice. Parents receive food stamps to supply the meals, but the kids get free breakfast and free lunch with no reduction in the family's food stamp allotment. When schools are closed, the meals are still paid for but only once. It's sad that parents can't use food stamps responsibly.

  21. Some of these kids are THUGS. I agree with the fish and loaves of bread!

    ReplyDelete
  22. 5:19,,,Then those kids grow up to be freeloaders like their role models were, and the cycle never ends. There are families for several generations who live off the public spigot. Got t big ole liplock on it......fee medical, food, cheap housing, fed at school, etc. Everyone is paying for these kids but those who should be..........like, parents or in most case parent.

  23. Food stamps are sold for money - then used for hair appointments; manicures; booze; eating out - Could careless if there kids are feed - Government will take care of it so they say. No wonder Maryland taxes are out of this world.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So adults who get an SSI “disability” check can pick up free food?

Yet Mardela and Pittsville kids get NOTHING.

Why not restrict it to children only, but make it available to all schools in the county?

Surely the majority are getting food stamps with which to purchase bread, baloney, peanut butter, apples and milk?

  28. I’m going out on a limb here.
    Cut this program now.
    Completely.
Stop feeding other people’s children. It is not societies responsibility to feed anyone. It’s theft. If no one is responsible for you, and you can’t feed yourself, you die.
That’s what makes the human genome better. Allow nature to eliminate the weak that no one will be responsible for outside of family care and volunteer charity.
Why do these people deserve special treatment?
End Big Government Social engineering. Save taxpayers and clean up societies ilk. It works.

  29. I for one am grateful that this is happening. Many schools have more than 50% of students that are on free or reduced cost of lunch. I want students to have at least one me a day while school is out. I think this is a great reason to pay taxes, so children do not go hungry.

    ReplyDelete
  30. But now they get food stamps to buy lobster, crabs, steaks, shrimp, etc., not just a fish and a loaf of bread.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anyone who doesn’t believe they do that, has never been to Fat Boys. Yes, they do buy bushels of crabs with foodstamps.

      Seen it first hand.

They aren’t supposed to be able to get “cooked ready to eat” food. But they sell them live crabs, once the transaction is done, they steam them for them, for free.

  31. Give them fishing poles and teach them how to dig worms. Let them earn boxes of basic ingredients such as flour, cooking oil, potatoes and vegetables. Teach them how to COOK those basic foods.

    Problem solved.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Because there’s no poor kids in Pittsville, Willards or Mardela, and nobody who can feed their own children in Salisbury.

This is bullshit. Why are they giving out free food to whatever grown ass adult that comes up there? I bet it’s no questions asked, just gimme gimme.

How many culls claim they “gots six keeds” and walks out with a whole carload for free?

    ReplyDelete
  33. I'm not sure why anyone thinks taxpayers should pay twice for meals for students. No food stamps need to be given to parents for meals provided free to kids at school. Kids will not go hungry if meals are paid for only once.

    1. So we should only feed the folks who rely on us? Kind of like schools and kids?

      Delete
  35. First of all, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU WHO SAY THESE KIDS DON'T DESERVE TO BE FED. They didn't want to close WCPS because of the number of underprivileged kids who rely on them for hot meals. Second-- YOUR OWN BOE PROBABLY CARES ABOUT YOU. Give them a call and find out.WCPS serves Wicimico county. Why was that insensitive comment even included in the official notice?!? Are you pissed because your kid isn't being fed by the school district you pay taxes for? Then check your school district. BOE is by district. I pay Salisbury taxes. I'm glad my money will go to feed kids.

Give a MAN a fish and he eats for a day. Kids, people. Not men. Take your heads out of your posteriors, please. How do you know the "welfare moms" from the others in the grocery store? I did my weekly shopping like everyone else: including you, if you saw everyone's carts. The people in front and behind me (and I, myself) were TEACHERS. I'm sorry my cart was full. I have two kids to feed. I left you the crab legs on sale. I bought beans, rice and potatoes. Maybe I'll invite a few of my kids' friends over for lunch.

Community. Jesus fed the hungry. Why do YOU think it's not your problem?

  36. No one said these kids should not be fed. We are saying people should take responsibility for the kids. God helps them that help themselves.

  37. March 14, 2020 at 9:24 PM Rant much?

I, like most would gladly share with my friends and neighbors in need. Even on a fixed budget I make do.
I do not have my hand out, like those on welfare getting food stamps expecting the guberment to feed their kids.

How do we know a welfare cart to a regular cart. Get your head out of your a$$, we all know the difference. Quit acting so self righteous and stupid all in the same sentence.

Jesus also said call those sinner out for their bad ways.
The word "man" was a generalization for human. Quit twisting his word to suit your agenda.

You are so concerned invite the whole class over to your house every day and feed them or you can give a blank check to the guberment. I don't see you doing that.
I see you picking and choosing who you will share with and then berating others for the same. Hypocrite.

  38. I don't disagree with some of these comments, but please understand that many of the students that get free meals at school come from families that do work and don't make enough to qualify for benefits.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Well I say good - we should help. I guess the taxpayers who do see the overflowing grocery carts the first of the month have a right to be concerned when they hear addition free stuff is being given once again to those who appear to not contribute to society. Especially when that cart owner has beautiful clothes, nails, makeup etc and appears not to have a care in the world. I do hope Trump cracks down on those who abuse the system.

  43. I don't know about you guys but it's not my responsibility to feed someone elses kids in or out of school.

This is definitely a good deal for the LAZY Welfare Mongers! Not only do they get free lunches when school is in session they get Welfare and EBT Food stamps to feed them. Also when in school these kids get breakfast, lunch and dinner including dessert and snacks.

    If you can't feed'em then don't breed'em!

  44. My children are my responsibility. I will feed them and see to their well being. I don’t have much and am of little means, it it is my job and mine alone to do this. Frankly, I don’t trust anyone other than myself to do so.

  45. What are you people talking about? Do you even read? Not all schools are listed. The schools that ARE listed are where any WCPS student can get lunch. You just have to drive there! My God you people will complain about anything and everything won’t you? And while the Food Service people are working to make sure your kids eat, they are at risk from kids who may be carrying the virus. Be grateful for once in your pathetic lives.

These lazy moms don't even get out of bed to offer breakfast or see their children off to school.j They just like the checks, and the EBT cards so they can have nice nails and hairdo's! This is what the next generation is going to be like as well.
