White House Officials Allege Speaker Pelosi Pushed To Include Hyde Amendment Loophole Into Coronavirus Stimulus Plan

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi sought to include a potential way to guarantee federal funding for abortion into the coronavirus economic stimulus plan, according to multiple senior White House officials.

Speaking to the Daily Caller, those officials alleged that while negotiating the stimulus with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, Pelosi tried to lobby for “several” provisions that stalled bipartisan commitment to the effort. One was a mandate for up to $1 billion to reimburse laboratory claims, which White House officials say would set a precedent of health spending without protections outlined in the Hyde Amendment.

The Hyde Amendment blocks clinics that perform abortions from receiving federal funding, and Democrats have pushed the Trump administration to end it since he was elected in 2016.

  1. Why can't a bill be on one specific item, without amendments being added. Oh that's right! those amendments line the pockets of those who are pushing them, by special interest groups. That is how the elected representatives, senate or congress, become multi-millionaires.

  4. Easy money must make them (Nancy Pelosi) desperate; evil; hateful; ugly people. Time for "Miss Important" to quit while she still has time - another Biden.

  5. I kind of like her idea. At least for the final time. It involves funding for Post-Partum abortion with the age of fetus not being important. Pelosi is 79 years old and she would personally be the last D&C cut to pieces and paid for by public money for it---er sorry---her????. I would contribute my entire fortune (very small since I have been taxed out the wazooo from the dumb-ass-crats, along with many many rino's) but it would be worth every penny, plus lots of your pennies. Her being the D&C product would be a great chunk of chum for fishing to catch something more worthwhile and valuable---like an oyster toad.
