Virginia bill that would allow removal of Confederate statues passes Legislature

Confederate statues in Virginia may soon be subject to removal after the Democratic-led state House and Senate passed legislation over the weekend that would undo a law that blocks the removal of public war memorials.

The bill will now go to Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam, who has already indicated his support for localities having a final say on the issue.

The legislation includes exceptions for cemeteries and the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, which has a statue of Confederate Gen. Stonewall Jackson. The bill also contains steps a locality must take before removing a monument.

  2. Damn, just get rid of all of it. And change the history text books. Then years down the road when blacks start crying about slavery like they do now, people will say what the hell you talking about? There's no evidence of that. Quit startin' shit. Bye.

Actually, no Historic statues should be torn down

those who survived the Civil War,
Widows of Veterans of that Conflict put those statues in place.

Why do we allow law makers to tear them down ?

  13. Really short sighted approach. OTOH, that's how their Commie bros revised history; just edit the picture of the reviewing stand.

Next, Coonman's yearbook will be airbrushed.
