Sen. Katherine Klausmeier (D-Baltimore County) stressed to panel of Maryland lawmakers on Thursday the urgency of legislation that would require public schools to find off-campus alternative learning arrangements for students who are registered sex offenders.
“Senate Bill 1052 prohibits students who are registered sex offenders from attending places on school campuses. This emergency bill is needed to ensure the safety of Maryland students,” Klausmeier said at a Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee hearing.
“As you probably are well aware, a registered sex offender was enrolled in a local high school in Baltimore County in my district. And while he attended classes he committed another sex offense. Under current law a student who is a registrant is allowed to attend classes on school campuses if they have permission from the superintendent, the local school board or the principal of the school.”
Klausmeier hammered her point home.

So a very highly paid superintendent decided to permit a convicted sex offender to attend classes including gym and showers. Apparently the job doesn’t require critical thinking and decision making.
ReplyDeleteBut racist graffiti artists are welcome at SU if they’re the correct pigment
ReplyDeleteThese are just kids, mixed up and not responsible for what they do. Boys brains are fully developed till they are 23. They did nothing more than Joe Biden has been doing all his life.
ReplyDeleteHow about just expelling him/her and don't let them come back?..smh
ReplyDeleteSorry, but if you commit a sex offense you do not belong around other kids - no excuses ! Don't care about hormones, etc. Your lack of control does not mean that others should have to be in harms way.
ReplyDeleteYou should educate yourself on sex offenders. In MD, correct me if I am wrong. If a 17 year old or older dates and has sex with someone 16 or under that person is a sex offender. Only if the parents
ReplyDeletePress charges. NOW - how many 16 year olds look 20 or older - a lot. So a teenager gets caught up in this situation and is treated like a pervert. Too me sex offenders are sick people who are much older and know what they are doing is wrong. Baltimore would be better well served if they kept the drugs away from the schools.
DUGH !!! Ya think ??
