Maryland Lawmaker Jay Walker Accused of Driving Drunk

Maryland State Delegate Jay Walker was arrested Sunday in Charles County after the sheriff's office says he drove under the influence of alcohol.

The Democrat, who represents District 26 in Prince George's County, was stopped at about 12:50 a.m. at the Tinder Box cigar lounge in Waldorf, court documents say.

Walker, 48, was driving his official vehicle, according to the documents. He was released on his own recognizance.

It's not a government vehicle, it's just a vanity plate that says "Hey, Look at me, I'm a State Delegate." Nothing else, nothing less, nothing more. Cornbread has one.

That's funny because Delegates don't have "official vehicles." They just get Delegate or Senator tags to put on their cars to show off a little.

  7. Lock his a$$ up! It's about time they start locking Democrats up for breaking the law. I know there was a Delegate who had a boat accident while operating drunk and he was a Republican. They forced him to resign, but they give Dems a free pass.

  10. Reminds me of a former state's attorney in Wicomico County. Not only was he drunk in a county vehicle, he was armed!
