Ilhan Omar: American power derived from racism and history 'built on the oppression of black bodies'

Rep. Ilhan Omar said people in the United States need to accept that their country’s power comes from racism and that its history is “built on the oppression of black bodies.”

“From slavery to Jim Crow to redlining to mass incarceration to voter suppression, racism is part of the foundation of American power,” the Minnesota Democrat said Thursday during a panel discussion on Capitol Hill.

“Our task as organizers is not only to all out the specific incidences of racism,” she added. “It is to recognize that our history is built on the oppression of black bodies.”

  2. Slaves were free by white men. Everything that was built was destroyed during the war. After the war it was rebuilt and America imposed their night into other countries freeing slaves. Her place of birth has actual slaves in 2020. Facts

    1. Thank you

The Jewish owners of the West India Trading Company were the conspirators with the wealthy black thugs who sold the black Africans. Their relatively low IQ made them perfect slaves.

    2. At 12:14 p.m., the slavery was 350 to 400 years ago. Why is this relevant today? There is no slavery in our great United States of America. There is current slavery in other countries of the world.

  6. Omar talks as if slavery wasn't practiced for almost all of human history. Even before the English settled the U.S., Indian tribes in the Americas would destroy other Indian tribes and enslave the members of that tribe they didn't kill. Slavery and indentured servitude are a sad blemish on the history of mankind. Slavery is still practiced in some countries around the globe, including many in Africa where black tribes, like the Indians, destroy tribes of people and either kill or enslave that tribe's members. But last I checked, the United States has moved beyond the practice of slavery and has become the freest country in the world. So much so, that peoples born in other countries, including those in Africa, do anything they can to get into the United States so they can reap the benefits of the plethora of opportunities this country presents to all entering legally.

  7. There were more white slaves than black not to mention indentured servants that usually died before the seven years of slavery was up! I am so sick and tired of this lying narrative where no one ever mentions the africans that rounded these slaves up and sold them to the spanish and the fact that no one alive today unless they came from another country has been a slave and no white people alive today have ever owned a slave. The media and the democrat party basically one and the same are responsible for this constant whining about 250 years ago.
