Oh yeah .... actually writing notes on paper and passing them in class... running the risk of getting busted and the thrill of the moment to see if the girl of your dreams would accept... then trying to be cool in the back seat while your decidedly uncool dad drove you to the rink.... good times man, good times!
used to get more butt then a public toilet seat at the skate rink

ReplyDeleteI don't know that it was a particularly 'wild' time, but it was fun.
Of course now the army of lawyers waiting to sue people would make the rink's liability insurance unaffordable
That turned into watching our kids do the same thing. It's a miracle that we're still alive.
ReplyDeleteMy goal as a kid was to be able to skate fast enough to be told to sit down for a period of time. I was so proud when I achieved that lol
ReplyDeleteI liked the short lived ice rink in Salisbury.Strange how some things just don't catch on.
ReplyDeleteOld Skateland.....fun times!
ReplyDeleteand we didn't even wear helmets or knee pads or any of that nice protective gear that they have to wear now to ride a kiddie car or tricycle.
ReplyDeleteLoved Friday night at Skateland.
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the 25th day of September....oh yeah, skated to it a lot. Even learned how to speed skate and waltz on skates.

I remember that. I went once but I suck at ice skating. It seems like it wasn't there very long.
